The Tesla app sent me a notification that the truck had an update pending 2024.14.7. It says minor changes, but this all appeared in the app (before I started the update).

UPDATE: link to later post in thread with images of it working. PowerShare Working Pics

Image with it saying “Discover PowerShare”. This seems to be a key indicator that your PowerShare is active.

Just had my PowerShare installed this week. I do not have the options in the app though, running version 2024.14.7. I suspect it’s a special update they have to push to you. I am waiting for the city inspector, so maybe it won’t be activated until that is done?

Definitely, they will not enable it until you pass inspection.

Quick updates on this…

1. It tried to work, but didn’t. My gateway seems to be offline and maybe that prevented it from working? I’m going to have to try to get it back online. You can test it by flipping the breaker in your gateway to simulate an outage. (Update: Installer fixed this by re-adding the gateway to my account. It got unlinked for some reason)

2. It did seem like Tesla activated this feature Outside of a vehicle update. The manual says you need 2024.14 or higher and I had that version for a bit before it started working.

I didn’t have any sort of inspection, or even get a permit. I highly doubt Tesla would look for that. Maybe it has to be online for a bit and they slowly activate it?

Having seen people posting about having the PowerShare option show up in the CT and on the mobile app, and in some cases actually using the functionality either in a real outage or testing it, I chatted with Tesla support today.

I have 2024.14.7 installed and don't see the option. From what I can tell, the gateway and the universal wall connector are online and setup correctly. Tesla's response was that PowerShare has not rolled out yet and it will be sometime in June. I asked if she was sure, and she said yes. So it seems it's not being widely released, but some people may be getting it early. Not sure what the parameters are for that to happen though.

As I sit here with a significant thunderstorm moving through, it would be nice for it to show up. But with most things Tesla it seems, I'll have to just wait.

Keep us posted. I am still waiting for Pacific Gas & Electric to come out and install the Tesla Backup Switch that goes behind the meter. It has been 72 days since they installed the rest of the equipment. Then the City has to come to do a final inspection.

Anyone else in the SF Bay Area have the same problem with PG&E not coming out to do their part?

I have 2024.14.7 and a gen3 HPWC with two PowerWalls. Tesla claim I have everything ready for PowerShare. I thought we needed to have the new universal wall connector.
Anyways, I don’t see the PowerShare option in the car or the Tesla app. I checked my Tesla app and it’s v4.33.0.

Unsure if my PowerWall gateway is on the appropriate firmware though.

My power share software suddenly seems to be on today. Got the tutorial in the app and now have the option to turn it on. Haven’t tried shutting off the power to see if works yet, maybe tomorrow.

Same. I had mine installed earlier this week, have the most recent app, but do not have the option yet.

My setup did pass inspection so I guess it’s a waiting game now!

so soon after I ordered I got the approval/eligibility for Powershare.....anyone know how exact the "park within 20 feet of main or garage panel"? I just measured and it's within 20' of the edge of the parking spot but not to where the charger will be....any idea?

Tested the PowerShare, it works! It did have a very brief interruption of power from when I flipped the switch, to when it turned on.

Where are you reading that 20ft limitation? I have an 80ft run from my gateway to charger pedestal.

Was on teslas powershare page
"Park on your property within 20 feet of your garage or electrical service (main) panel"
https://www.tesla.com/support/powershare#eligibility-requirements

I don't read this requirement as limiting the cable run to 20 feet. My Powershare installer has an approved plan that puts me at least 50 feet from the main panel to my driveway.

Obviously, shorter is better.
