Yesterday, my truck finally got PowerShare enabled after the PowerShare equipment was installed about 5 days ago. I was super excited and couldn’t wait to have my first real home power outage. Well it turns out that I didn’t have to wait long, today the power just went out for the whole city block. The Cities power has been stable all year long and today it wasn’t, what are the chances of that? The house lights at home shutoff and my first thoughts were, did the electricians not hook something up right. First thing I checked was the breaker panel, and everything looked fine. I then checked the ring app and saw several people reporting power outages. I was just so happy to see that because it meant my truck could power my house, but I remember I didn’t have my truck plugged into the charge. I quickly ran to the truck and plugged it in. Within about 30 seconds of handshaking, my whole house was powered back on. Looks like the reports are saying the city power will be out for another 4 hours.

The cybertruck has become more useful than I could ever had imagined. Thanks Tesla!

If you go to settings on Powershare, what is the version number on your Gateway firmware? I am still waiting for mine to be made "working", also after a week.

Mine is the same as yours. I was in your shoes and did a multitude of things. One I downloaded Tesla One app and acted like a contractor and followed their setup and close out procedure. Two, I went through the commission procedure found on YouTube by Tesla where I found that the electrician did not update and enable the gateway. Three, I rewired the comms cable to the wall connector because it looked like the electrician stripped the wires to long leaving some copper exposed, I was thinking they could be shorting. Four, I sent support message in the app explaining the situation. It’s possible one of these things expedited the process or maybe not and I wasted my time on the matter.

Hmmm, so then I dont need a firmware update. How did the Enable Powershare button appear on your truck? Because I dont see that yet either.

Your firmware is good.

You have to wait until you see the PowerShare Discover message in the App. Then if you go out to vehicle you will see the Enable PowerShare on the Truck under charging. No update was done on the truck, so I guess Tesla just enables the feature.

Do you see Kw usage of the house from the grid via the App? If so then the gateway is enabled and you just need to wait for the truck to be enabled.

If you already have Solar and/or Powerwalls on your home PowerShare doesn't work yet. That is the firmware update the website refers to that some of us are waiting for. If you are in the Tesla app and can see your charger in the garage with the garage door open everything is set and provisioned correctly. It just won't show up until we get an update. Hopefully it will be in the Christmas update seems like a lot is packed in there.
