After a thorough second look it seems that the installer cut the wrap at the edge corners in order to bend it thus leaving a small bald spot (.5-1mm) at almost every edge corner. Anyone heard of this before?
For $6k that should not happen! We charge a lot less than that and achieve PERFECTION. So definitely talk to the installer to make things right. Did you try contacting them? What did they say?

I have not yet. He is going to do a 2 week inspection and detail. I plan to tell him then. Here is the work at distance for some additional perspective.

At distance small imperfections are usually not visible. Definitely a beautiful color on a beautiful truck!!! :) As I said, if the shop wants good reputation, they'll make it right. I'd understand something tiny somewhere hardly visible, but all edges showing steel and lifting up is not good. But give them a chance, address it politely with them and ask them to fix it. Maybe they are not ill intended or anything, but just had a bad day or something when working on your wrap - it's human, it happens.

Tinterz wrapped my car perfectly. If you are near Central Florida, check them out. Tinterz has locations in Tampa and Orlando. I’ve already wrapped mine so I don’t get anything from the endorsement. They do a lot of CT’s, and I’m very happy with the job and fair price. You can see their work on Instagram or go to their website: https://tinterz.net/

This is not an acceptable installation for a $6,000 job. The visible edges and gaps you pointed out are installation errors, not normal industry standards.

What you're seeing in the photos:

  • Inconsistent Gaps: The space between the film and the panel edge is not uniform.
  • Missed Coverage: The film is cut too short, leaving painted edges exposed to chips, dirt, and peeling.
  • Lack of Wrapping: A premium install often involves "wrapping" the film over the edge and onto the back side of the panel for a seamless look and total protection.
Your next steps:

  1. Do Not Accept The Vehicle. Speak with the shop manager immediately.
  2. Show Them These Photos. Clearly point out each flawed edge.
  3. Request a Re-Do. The affected panels need to be completely redone by a more experienced installer. For this price, you paid for precision.
A top-tier PPF job should be virtually undetectable. Your expectations are correct—hold them to it.

What @TWRAPS said. for $6k, they shouldn't be using a generic pre-cut pattern at all, but if they are, they should at least modify it so the corners and panel creases are correctly covered. Where the cant rails meet the fender is always a bit of a challenge, but again, they're not that difficult, and certainly not for a reputable wrap shop.
