Did you turn it off and on while at a set cruise control speed to see what it used, electricity wise? You just never know until you try...I was SHOCKED when I saw how much a little space heater in my office used once I had solar+powerwalls installed and could see the amount of juice it used.

Basically every space heater of any design will draw up to 1200watts because that's the max continuous draw allowed by code from a normal wall outlet. The only real differences between models is how they spread that heat out with fan settings, and which safety features are included.
