Tesla delivered 254,695 electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2022.

Q2 2021 saw 201 250 deliveries.

As usual, Yahoo finance, WSJ, etc post garbage reporting of a sales decline, its really a 26% increase YOY.
Imagine if Shanghai had not closed!

A sales decline would be if they had inventory sitting around...

-Crissa
BINGO, they sold as many as they could produce. Quarter over quarter it was a production decline.

DUH!!!!

I believe not all quarters are the same. The last quarter is apparently the busiest.

So why don't news outlets report sales declines for legacy companies after the first quarter every year !

Hey, how about compare their 26% increase since the same quarter last year to the other companies decline of 14 to 20% since the same quarter from last year, which was done from the quarter before that... what? Don't want to make legacy car manufactures look that bad?

And in the last month of the quarter was the most they'd ever built in a month. Ever.

Was going to mention this.

Produced more vehicles in June than ever previously.

Very likely we’ll see Tesla crack 400k vehicles next quarter as Berlin will be producing cars at an increasing rate (over 1000/ week now, they are adding a second shift and increasing productivity, very likely over 2000/ week by quarter end). Austin is just starting to get into the 1000/ week ballpark and now has access to some critical parts which were hung up in China so we should see some big movement there.

Sorry I got excited. Quarterly earnings call is going to be interesting again and we’ll find out if they are still expect to be to hit their 50% growth target even with the Shanghai shutdown. (I’m betting yes)

Legacy auto as a whole has been on decline for 4+ years.

It’s a handy fact that people want to ignore when they complain about Tesla being worth more than the rest of the auto industry combined. The rest of industry is shrinking, Tesla is growing massively.
