The number you're chasing is 385 Wh/mi, that should get you rated range. I had no problem getting rated range in the summer, so long as I kept it to about 75 max. Two of the biggest range killers driving an EV are low tire pressure and the brakes. Cold usually saps a few PSI in the tires, so make sure they're up to 50 PSI cold. Every time you use the brakes instead of regen, you are throwing energy away, far more than you may realize. Learn to anticipate deceleration and avoid the brakes as much as possible. Charging to 100% is fine if it lets you skip a charge stop, but it lowers overall efficiency. A full battery can't absorb regen energy so it uses brake blending instead and it'll burn through the top 5-10% of the battery quicker than the rest.

One thing nobody has mentioned yet is wind. Wind resistance is the square of speed, so the faster you go, it's not just reducing your range in a linear fashion, it's the square of your speed. So if you're going 80mph with a 20mph head wind, you get the wind resistance of going 100mph which is going to crush your milage. Elevation change is also a factor - most of the time it evens out, but if you're going from someplace low to someplace higher above sea level, the altitude change will reduce your range, although on the way back you should get better mileage.

Winter interstate driving cut my cyberbeast range in half. Bucking a 50-75 mph wind (SD) on top of that cut it to a third.

I'm definitely am curious how the semi can achieve 250-500miles pulling 80,000 lbs with only 5x the batteries of a car if my truck drops to 1/3 my range bucking a strong winter wind.

Does the cybertruck need a transmission to get decent range?

I get 30% less than the miles it says generally. I drive quick, have family in car, , mostly highway, and some hills. I can get 230 our of the 300 miles I start with. I wish the truck would adapt to my driving so it just starts with 230 miles. I only drive it on a 200mile highway TO/FROM loop :).
