My personal decision-making was identical. Here's how I framed my decision prior to purchasing the FS CT.
The extra $20k for FS, while it comes with some things like FSD, is essentially paying for advanced depreciation with an understanding that the release of nonFS models will directly affect it's resale value. Unless there is a way to offset and/or justify the extra $20k, I'd be more financially responsible to wait for the nonFS CTs. BTW, the same goes for the new Model Y Launch Edition.
Unlike equities, vehicles are not investments. Vehicles are a liabilities. The up-swing in vehicle resale values was an anomaly during the pandemic in the history of all vehicle sales. I will not depend or rely on the resale value of a CT as part of my purchasing decision. There are other collector types of vehicles that can be treated as an investment but the CT isn't one of them at this moment.
Anyways, just my two cents, not financial advice.
yea and you missed correcting my your with you're - just love to see scum sucking liarwers like you corect my inuntemional mispellllings“Knew.”

Bro,all of our cyber trucks have had a rapid depreciation due to the non Tesla related antics of its CEO.
IThis isn’t political per se. but as we all know, all of our cyber trucks have had a rapid depreciation due to the non Tesla related antics of its CEO. If I’d have known this is where we’d end up, despite the fact that I love my truck, I wouldn’t have bought it. Now I can’t get out of it because it’s worth less than I owe. Curios if any attorneys on here think there is a class in the making.
i would say that vehicles in general are depreciating assets. They usually go down in value and rarely increase, at least in the short term! So, of you’re upset the potential future value is less than you paid, well, that’s the normal situation. So, in the long term future, if the truck is worth 10x what you paid, do you plan on sending some of the profits to Tesla, as a thank you?… Right, and that’s also the normal response-no!This isn’t political per se. but as we all know, all of our cyber trucks have had a rapid depreciation due to the non Tesla related antics of its CEO. If I’d have known this is where we’d end up, despite the fact that I love my truck, I wouldn’t have bought it. Now I can’t get out of it because it’s worth less than I owe. I’m gonna need you to show your work there buddy. With all due respect, these trucks are going down like me on … checks notes … your mom! (What, I said with all due respect?)Bro,
first off, this is patently untrue.
Funny because my wife called me out on this just yesterday. She‘s noticed that my consideration of swapping out for Tesla’s has turned into resolution to get a Tesla.p.s. - there are plenty of us out there who want to buy a Cybertruck even harder since Elon has been doubling down on Eloning here lately. I love it.

I think we saw the bottom earlier this week my friend. Things are going to ramp up very soon with Cybercab and Optimus production, let alone AI capabilities and unsupervised self driving inching closer. I bought a bunch of shares when they went on sale recently and have been watching them climb since.I don't think it's reasonable or rational to acknowledge and appropriately lament and condemn the material uptick in Tesla/CT vandalism, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, suggest that the value of our vehicles isn't being impacted by the same sentiments that are resulting in the vandalism.
In fact, I'd argue that the depreciation variable is likely more pronounced, not less, because many (almost certainly most) EM detractors aren't scumbag criminals who want to do harm to hardworking people's assets due to the words and deeds of the manufacturer's CEO.
I'm fortunate enough to not have to care about any accelerated depreciation, but I feel for the owners who do. All of us are at risk of suffering at the hands of the misguided vandals.
Relatedly, I'm considering investing in Tesla, but I don't think we've seen the bottom yet and won't as long as EM gleefully swings a chainsaw above his head, both literally and figuratively. (And that's not a political statement. If you want one from me it would be something along the lines of both major political parties suck!)
GL with the investment. I hope you're right.I think we saw the bottom earlier this week my friend. Big things ahead for this company, despite the woke opposition.
