This morning I pressed along the entries applique and heard it click into place twice. But unfortunately this wasn't in the left corner, where I'm having my issue.

I forgot to take and post pictures, i'll do that tomorrow.

They probably started peeling up the applique from one end and permanently bent the end of it. But you are correct, it is worth taking it off to further diagnose. Although I'm afraid of breaking the damn thing while trying to remove it myself.
Added to my previous post. Tesla should have replaced the appliqué cause Tesla states it shouldn’t be reused. Might try bringing that up with them to get a replacement.

The top tailgate appliqué simply comes off by lifting up. There are clips that attach to the tabs to help the applique stay in place. My guess is the side that is elevated either has the clip(s) missing or tab(s) broken. IMO, be worth removing it to find out.

EDIT: Also, the top tailgate appliqué is not supposed to be reused, according to Tesla. So you should have received a replacement if they needed to pop it off for the repair.

It can be reused. They say it because it not only has clips but also double sided tape. If you put new double sided tape, it's as good as new. I worked with my Tesla mobile guy who did the replacement for the recall. We had to remove part of it because it was cockeyed (like the original) due to the points where it rests. He had to rebend up the metal and we had to replace the double sided tape once he pulled it up. He didnt have any but I did. We used mine and it was good as new.

I had no frame damage. Thank God!

So if there is a crumple zone, it didn't work lol.
Unless the two impact bars which were replaced really were deformed.
Even if not, the hitch receiver itself bent along with center bar.

Didn’t say it can’t be reused. I said “Also, the top tailgate appliqué is not supposed to be reused, according to Tesla.” I know it can be reused; I popped mine off and coated it with truck bed liner.

I made that comment as a means for the OP to get a replacement.

Rev A might have double sided tape, but the rev B appliqué from my truck, and a brand new rev C appliqué in my garage, have no double sided tape; just clips.

After further analysis:

Seems like it's a combination of 3 minor things.
1. Light bar on tailgate is not on straight enough
2. Sail trim is also not sitting right
3. Top applique is not fully seating on the light bar. When I press it down on the left side it squished down. When I press on the right corner, it doesn't go down much at all.

In the end, it's not as bad as some Foundation series I've seen on the road. It's very nitpickie of me, I know. I might have to remove the tailgate liner to loosen the screws on the light bar and make sure it's sitting properly on the tailgate before tightening the screws down again. If that improves it by 50%, I'll live with it.
