Rear view mirror is dangerous!!

I think you just need to force the rearview on at all times under Display -> Rear View Camera.

I took it off the first week I had mine. So much cleaner and better visibility out the front.

They specifically made it easy to remove, and even have a flap that folds up to cover the hole where the mirror bolted to. Hence the clean hexagon after it's removed.

After a few days, looking at the screen instead of the mirror seems natural. In fact, the only annoying thing is, when I get into my Model S, I constantly look at the screen, then realize there's nothing there. I then have to look at the mirror. BTW, the mirror seems so weird after using the screen for a week or two.

BTW, if you really want an immersive experience, move the sun visor to the side. I turns the Cybertruck into a Model X. I wish I could find a good solution to have it that way all the time. For now, I just save it for long trips (moving the sun visor to the side).

For tall persons that little nearly useless piece of glass is in the way when on freeway on ramps, and smaller mirrors that clip onto visors can be used for backseats if you are too tall for the std one.

Cybertruck is an amazing machine to drive …If it runs. The biggest problem now for me i really lack of the confidence to take it to a long trip.

I've taken mine on multiple road trips and have another coming this weekend. It's just fine for it

Just do it, it gets about the rated range on the freeway at 75mph.
I took mine on a 1,200 mile trip to California and it did really great and everything is already planned for you. Just follow the map and you're all good.

rear view mirror with screen would have been nice. Maybe they figured it’s another part to replace if it breaks. They like to use the main screen as much as possible.
