I finally took delivery last weekend and feel like I disagree with a couple of points that I've repeatedly read here/on reddit as well as heard in videos.

first, the sound system is fine. it's not amazing, "killer," "mind-blowing." it sounds fine to my ears and sounds about on par with, or maybe a little worse than, my MYLR, with stock equalizer settings on both. the bass is arguably stronger in the Y sitting in the driver's seat, so if I had to choose, I'd give the Y the edge. Tesla has had very good audio for many years and the CT is no exception--not significantly worse but certainly not way better like some would have you believe.

second, the rearview mirror is totally usable. I keep the tonneau closed most of the time, and I've been adapting to the rear video feed, but I drove around with the tonneau open and I used the almost-comically-small rearview mirror. it looks comically small, but it is sturdy and does not jiggle/rattle when going over rough roads. it worked exactly like any other rearview mirror--just fine--and naturally with more optical detail than the on-screen video feed. I'll still keep the tonneau closed most of the time for freeway driving, so it's a moot point when commuting, but I'm not at all eager to remove it.

small point: I thought I'd still prefer the haptic turn signals of the refresh S/X, because haptic is the future and debouncing switches is so 1980s, but it's sort of refreshing to have physical buttons--and the click is so satisfying. no issue with the right turn button, fortunately, like some have reported.

interesting take on the sound system, almost everyone has said it was the best ever

the issue with the rear view mirror is the efficiency drop you get with keeping the vault open makes that a pretty much non-option

This actually interests me. I would be interested to hear from folks who said it was the best ever and what it was compared to? I have a really nice Alpine in one of my vehicles that sounds fantastic and 2 of my other vehicles have B&O with a fairly beefy amp that sounds incredible. I would be interested hearing from some Tesla owners on how the CT sound system compares to some of those other nice systems.

Had a Model Y, have a 2023 Model S and Cybertruck (AWD). They are in ascending order sound wise (good to great). I thought the S was the best sound system out there until the Cybertruck came along. Just Awesome.

The kind of music and how loud you play it may explain the original poster's opinion. If you don't listen to bass heavy music, then you wouldn't "feel" the difference. Even without the base, when it's cranked up really loud, the Cybertruck's highs are sooooo clear and crisp, and the "sound stage" is very apparent due to the size of the truck and the interior. I also adjust the EQ to a V pattern on all my cars (like most people) and have the slider at the bottom to Auto (forget the term, imersive sound maybe).

Hope this helps...
