Yeah I’m just assuming that means some kind of bracket that needs to attach to the first mounting position on the roof. I’d like to see what that actually looks like before I consider letting them monkey around with mine.
There are some attachment points under the cantrail that would allow for a cleaner, less obtrusive install. I wonder if the fix requires the new cantrail. My beast cantrail fits pretty nicely and I've seen some horror stories with the new one so I am holding out on that until I see signs of delamination, too. The cantrail recall is for life (can have it done 20 years from now) and I suspect so is this. So I'll be waiting (but monitoring both).

Not sure if this posted. Looks like they have an attachment or will replace the light bar for free.

Tesla recalls nearly 6,200 Cybertrucks in US due to off-road light bar issue, NHTSA says
Oct 30 (Reuters) - Tesla is recalling 6,197 Cybertrucks in the United States because a detached light bar could fall and pose a road hazard to other vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Thursday.
Tesla will either install an additional mechanical attachment or replace the light bar for free, NHTSA said.
The delay makes perfect sense now.

Yeah mine had been holding up with no problem, I'll wait for someone to post before I make a ticket.

It's not an adhesive failure. It's a surface preparation failure. If its not cleaned and prepaired properly the grip the "glue" has on the glass is as weak as whatever grip the contaminants have on the glass.

I've seen laser laser ablation used to zap off contamination and a little bit of the glass making it a little rougher in the mounting area (looks etched). If we really used the strongest stuff we could bond a metal ring to the glass and rip the glass out with a winch.

I got my light bar but not installed and going to sell it. So recall numbers might not be exact.

This document was last updated 2025-10-01 before the recall.
Do you think the process of filling a recall is quicker than Tesla can update documentation? :)

Do you think that updating documentation is more of a priority than filing a recall?
Yes, because that is easy the government is a slow machine that takes forever. The government is broken beyond belief.

If Tesla fails to update their documentation they face no direct consequences.

If they fail to issue a recall for something they risk severe financial penalties, civil lawsuits, criminal charges, and lasting brand damage.
