I have a 24 foundation beast and just getting recalls addressed. I have been waiting because I know how Tesla is, not my first time at the rodeo

Today I went in for:
1) lightbar recall - praying it goes smoothly. Risk to break windshield and possibly trim

2) can’t-rails (ha) being done, hopefully my bolts don’t protrude out hideously

3) front seat squeaking: the front seats have a bad adhesive I think. You sit back and you just hear peeling like tape sticking on and off. Service guy said they just usually replace these seats now

4) bed still leaks, they added extra slat in 2024 and didn’t change much.

I will keep anyone abreast to any new procedures on these fixes, if you’d like

Good to hear I'm not the only one with a squeaky seat back. Sadly when I took it in last it was cold so the adhesive wouldn't make the noise. I'll just go back this summer since it's noisy now that it's finally hot in PGH.

The service guy watched me push on it and heard it, verified it himself and said “we can’t even get cushions, just order new ones now.” So at least you’ll get a new seat. I’ll update once I get it back

A few updates for the chat:

1) they didn’t replace seats. Tightened lumbar and setbacks and it did fix the squeak

2) they finally did it! My bed is actually waterproof. They added foam to the tailgate appliqué piece that meets roof glass and adjusted height on it. Tested extensively and no water. I used to get tons just running through, even after extra slat

3) they added sound dampening foam to doors, think Dynamat type stuff. Really helped vibration and noise in cabin

4) lightbar recall was so great. It is flush mounted with the brackets and looks professional unlike my gen 2 bar. Sloppy glue exposed before

Tesla service did great and it was fast, one of my best experiences with them over the last 6 years. Parts were ready immediately and only took two days, got a nice loaner X. Can’t believe I’m saying it, but amazing service

Did you ask them to do that or was that auto-added to your service visit?

I had my lightbar rework done recently and I was really pleased with the new brackets.

Yes. I’m also curious what one has to say to get them to do this.

I have an appointment for my pcs replacement and I mentioned the door noise and they sent me an invoice for almost $400! Not sure what that was about but I removed it from my service list. Bummed because it really makes noise during music playback.

Mine had an $800 bill for noise stuff, it’s just the default auto generated thing in the app. They always clear it when under warranty. I’ve had that happen over 5 times on numerous of my Tesla.

I didn’t ask for the foam, but I marked the doors were making a vibrating noise when slamming shut and they took care of the rest. So much quieter in cabin now
