I took delivery of my CT on May 18th and FINALLY have my appointment today 2 months later to address concerns I had at delivery and I THOUGHT that they would fix the outstanding recalls that are showing as I repaired on notas.gov/recalls. However when I showed up they claimed no recalls show for my VIN in their system. I shower them the NHTSA site and they just said that they can’t do anything about it because they don’t show in their system. Has anyone else experienced this? It’s the wiper motor and the sail trim recalls.

Same here. My truck is back in today to fix hood alignment as they needed to replace a strut. I inquired a week back about the recalls and they said they can only do the wiper motor at this time but that's only if it's nonfunctional otherwise will need to wait until the official recall notices go out in August. They noted the sail trim fix is not finalized whatever that means but they hoped to have clarity by August and can do both during the same visit.

That's one reason why you shouldn't rush recalls.

Tesla is actually quite good about adding recalls to service work if required.

Same here. Took me almost 2 month to get a service appointment and they told me they can’t do the recall until the parts arrives. They tried to fix two other problems for me and they don’t have parts either. So my CT already sitting there more than 2 days and nothing major fixed, but at least I have a loner free to drive…

My SC replaced my wiper motor (mine was busted from delivery) and they changed my sail appliqués during that same visit.

Invoice only listed “replaced under new vehicle warranty” and not due to recall (though my AWD is listed on the .gov site). Maybe once the recall goes out they will show my VIN as clear.

They also replaced a rear wheel fairing that was broken after something hit on the road at no charge.

I happened to stop by my Tesla Service Center, just to check it out and move my appointment, which I was very ineffective at trying to do online. I asked if the recalls would be taken care of when I bring the vehicle in for other issues, they told me the same thing … it’s not in our system. So, I challenged them and they said that Tesla spreads out their recall appointments so that they don’t get deluged with folks that want their recall fixed ASAP. That’s done by spreading out owners in the system over time. Made sense to me actually. My take is that we all get better service when they proactively plan how they are going to take the influx of owners over time. Smart!

You know it takes time to ramp parts supplies right?
@jerhenderson , but that has nothing to do with the OPs issue of it showing on NHTSA and
NOT showing up correctly in Tesla's system.

Is it possible your (OP) truck really isn't part of the recalls? Not trying to fanboi out here, but a lot of times the media/news orgs say "OMG IT'S EVERY CAR" and it isn't. I did read the NHTSA recalls and I have forgotten if they list out VIN ranges so I might be wrong on this.

Agreed. The OP is just panicking for no reason. Tesla is on top of things all the time and 99.9% of the time it’s user error. The media is always at fault when it comes to Tesla.

If the problem was that they didn’t have parts or weren’t yet equipped to fix those recalls that would have been fine and made sense. However they specifically said these recalls don’t show as being needed for my vehicle. However you can go to www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and put in your VIN and it will show all unrepaired recalls for your VIN. If these recalls aren’t needed on my truck that’s great. My problem then is Tesla needs to submit something to NHTSA saying that so that this doesn’t impact me later on down the road if I ever try to sell or trade my vehicle.
