Thanks for asking - please stay with meHey everyone!
Obviously new to this site, but I'm a writer at a national publication looking into the recent JerryRigEverything CT bulletproof testing video. Obviously no vehicle is gonna withstand a .50 caliber round, but I'm curious to hear from CT owners and fans about the CT appearing to get punctured by much smaller bullets.
Does seeing the bulletproof claims put to the test change your opinion on the vehicle in any way? For owners, are they aware of any legal indemnity clauses within Tesla's fine print regarding such situations. If so, does anyone think Tesla could be opening itself to legal actions in not living up to its bulletproof claims?
Happy to answer any questions you may have, and feel free to DM me to speak more privately. Thanks so much!
Best,

1. I dont think it opens up to liability - they dont say "all bullets" and they have company video which specifies exactly which ones are "in spec". No "bulletproof vehicle" with exception of The BEAST and some others are actually resistant to ANY bullets.. That said, they may have to change the wording to "bullet resistant" at some point once the lawyers flood in - vis-a-vis old days "water proof" became "water resistant"...
2. With respect to your profession in general, not to be rude and not speaking of you b/c I dont know who you are, but there IS a "disease" among media now, and everyone here and all Tesla owners are aware - which is the fact that Elon's purchase of Twitter/X has turned many of "Journalists" away from Tesla in a very irrational and frankly disappointing way.
Stories like "Why nobody wants an EV now" and stories about EV fires, safety, etc etc may have some merit - BUT IN THE NON-TESLA world only. MSM ignores the fact that Model Y IS THE BIGGEST SELLING CAR in the world, and other facts around how muc people love their Teslas.
I, for one am a car guy who bought my first Porsche in 1986 and now would never consider one - I will only buy Tesla (my last car was a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid-S - gas powered with battery backup) DO NOT CONFLATE "EVs" with Teslas. Its obvious to us all that EV or Tesla Hate is really just Elon hate because of his anti-woke comments and support for non-left issues.
I'm not party-affiliated, but the fact that only 3.4% of graduating journalists consider themselves "conservative" or "Republican" is a clear sign of the imbalance.
