Cybertruck reviews have done to death. I quit watching them 4-months ago. The truck has been out for nearly 7-months.

Time to move on to the next shiny new thing.

Okay, I read the review but did not watch the video. I like the article and the style and I completely get his point and I think I agree with the primary premise. First, I'll say that I'm a fanboy. I love Tesla and I think Elon is amazing (though, of course, a flawed human like all of us). Also, I literally took delivery of my Cyberbeast yesterday and it's also my first Tesla and first EV. I'm 48 and this is only my third vehicle. My first two were cheap commuters that I drove into the ground (first car was $12k and I bought it new and got rid of it with 254k miles and the second car I bought new for $14k and it has 190k miles). This is obviously a big change and I want to say that so far, in only 18 hours of ownership I LOVE IT! Drives amazing in my opinion which is the most important part. I think of this as my mid-life crisis vehicle. Instead of buying a nice sports car I bought a vehicle that's as fast or faster than most sports cars and far more functional. I can haul stuff around, I can go off-roading and camping, and I can beat a Vette off the line. To me this is a huge win. Certainly not without compromises, of which you brought up some good ones. BUT......

@TooManyxjs I have two issues with your article and I genuinely think you should consider an update to your review. First, your issue with the interface and entrace/lock/unlock. What?! It's soooo much better than you described. When you actually own the car you don't use the key cards so that whole diatribe on the key cards is silly unless you're reviewing this for people who will rent the car. I have so much control over the vehicle from the app and it locks and unlocks when I walk up to and away from it. When I get in, my phone is in my pocket and I just put my foot on the brake and it goes into gear (or I can swipe on the screen). It's just great. Also, if you hate the screen for changing gears (which I can't understand unless you're wearing work gloves or something), then use the roof-mounted shifter that it has. I will say that all of it I have quickly become accustomed to like the turn signals and screen for speed and shifting and I think I like it better but, in less than 24 hours of ownership I am still struggling with using the screen for rear view. My brain wants the mirror but I assume in a couple of weeks my brain will have remapped for that as well. I know Tesla is saving money with fewer parts but I think the point of fewer parts is not necessarily saving a few dollars but less parts is less to go wrong and Tesla is all in on the future being autonomous so mechanical levers/dials will be the past. Not saying I'm fully sold on that but I think your premise of it being to save money is probably not accurate.

My second but more minor and even more subjective quibble is you said it's hard to maneuver. This thing is crazy maneuverable. Sucks that it sounds like you hit a parked car but does that say something about your driving or about the vehicle? My kids, wife, and brother all drove it and they all praised how maneuverable and responsive it is despite despising how it looks. My kids (like most young adults) love how it looks and also thought it drove great. I'm sure I'll regret saying this when I hit something next week but for now it seems really easy to see where I'm going, how close I am to things, and whether or not I'll hit them. We'll see :) Thanks for the article, though, I do think that overall you are making a really good point and I enjoyed reading it despite those couple of issues. Thank you!
