There was a post recently on DIY options for removing the rust. Once you remove you will need the caps to minimize the problem from returning. I believe the title of the post is “Delivery rust and rust” plug that title into the search function.

I took a wire brush to it with a little bit of water to try a clean it up a little bit, then I put a cap on it.

EVERY vehicle has that. It is normal and expected.

And when I say every vehicle, I mean all models at all manufacturers.
Good to know. Thanks. Thought it was a good idea to check on the forum…

The only way to really keep that metal from tarnishing is to cover it with a pure type of grease to keep the atmosphere from it.

The metal that makes up these parts is of a specific strength and softness, which is why it's not at all stainless. Generally these pieces will gain a little surface rust, and that becomes an ugly, but protective patina that takes hundreds of years to damage.

Just grease and cover it and you'll be fine.

Also.. it is not the wheel which is rusting.. Aluminum does not rust.

it is the Rotor which is rusting..

Grease as mentioned may help, if it doesn’t all fling out. A cap will help a bit less than the grease…

This rust is not an issue, just an eyesore.

The middle doesn't undergo alot of centrifugal force. The cap will reduce water getting at it and will hide the patina.
