I had 4 people come up to me in the last 2 days to warn me about the recall! I can't believe the MSM FUD worked so well :(

I tell them that the day before it was announced, there was a Ford recall for 500,000 vehicles that could CATCH FIRE. Had they heard of that? After they say no, I tell them that only 3,000 Cybertrucks were affected, and only 2 actually had the problem. They usually go "wow".

For anyone new to Tesla, this kind of stuff has been going on for years. I was just hoping it was finally fading away...
True, but in this case, I dont think its the MSM. Its simply a new product that grabs headlines. This catches peoples eye more because its new. It will take 5-8 years for people to get used to it, same as when we used to rarely see teslas on the road.
No attention is paid to any other recalls, its hilarious.

I’ve had a few people come up to me and say the same thing. I tell them it isn’t even a safety hazard because pressing the brake peddle on any car today will disengage the accelerator. That’s been a safety feature on all cars for probably ten years.

It's not on all cars, and not in some track or offroad modes.

But it's true of all Teslas.

It's Only The Beginning ( Deborah Conway - Aussie Singer )
I feel your pain having to constantly set things straight. The CT will go down in history as one of those incredible products that helped create a real step change, like when Steve Jobs revealed the iPhone.
It set a benchmark and almost 20 years later is held in high esteem for design and software engineering.....even though l have an android 'smart phone' the original is sometimes the best.
As l watch Sandy Munro and his fab team tear down a CYBERBEAST ( cringed at first ) l go WOW more often than originally thought l would.

Bought a Jeep 4xe a couple of years ago, and since then:
* 2 recalls that have been fixed
* 2 currently active
One of the current Jeep 4xe recalls (not on my one fortunately) was announced a few months ago, they told people not to charge it as it may catch fire, and they took several months to figure out a solution.
For us, finally after booking our Jeep in for service a few weeks ago, we get it into service to fix the recalls. They tell us they only had an oil change on their list of work to do and we would need to come back in June for the safety recalls.
Owners on the forums are generally unhappy with a bunch of issues (it is a PHEV that does 99% of the driving in winter on gas to protect the gas engine)

Meanwhile for the Cybertruck:
1 recall so far, issue only happened on 1 or 2 vehicles.
Fix was found within a week or two of the recall.
Fix pushed out relatively quickly (although on this forum we joke it could have been faster)
Owners on this forum are generally happy.

and yet what is the media saying?

I was in a very red state last week and the conversation went to Cybertruck (the others are in construction and didn't know I have an order in) and they all mansplained to me about the Cybertruck (not knowing I knew 10x what they know about it). I was told
* The new price is $120k-$145k
* Used ones are going for $250k
So generally a bunch of incorrect information, but not all negative.

It’s all about getting clicks and eyeballs.
Bingo! ☝?☝?☝?☝?☝? Right there. They’ve learned that a CT hit piece gets way more attention than any positive or negative story about any other car. Just goes to show that no one really cares about other cars breaking down or being recalled.

I was at burger joint after a fishing tournament and parked behind the restaurant and walked up. There was a CT stopped at the light and I overheard the older couple behind me talking about it. I asked what they thought of it (them not knowing I had one) and she said “I heard on Facebook they got recalled and are having problems with them”. I told her the real issue but it’s crazy how the word get out so far and wide.

If they didn't know 'us', they wouldn't hate us.

As the CT becomes more prominent, so will the hater's reaction. Fait accompli

The fact the the older couple heard it on Facebook tells us all we need to know about this.

Facebook = yummy blended prunes for a certain generation

Zuckerberg should be kicked in the junk repeatedly until the end of time. Douche

Yeah I think this will always be a problem with Tesla until Musk shuts his piehole once in a while….??
It has nothing to do with Musk exercising his right to speak freely, and everything to do with how threatening so many monied interests find his products. Every dollar spent on a Tesla is less advertising dollars for MSM, less new car sales for legacy auto and their dealerships, and less gas and oil sales for petroleum companies. Follow the money.

Remember, Musk's stated goal is to be making 20 million EVs by 2030, slowing down his momentum is valuable to a lot of people, including those with large media empires.

No, the MSM is complicit in actively trying to slow Tesla down because advertising revenue in America is 25% auto related (insurance, oil and gas, cars, etc) and advertising spends are typically a percentage of sales. When Tesla wins sales, MSM loses advertising dollars.

At this point almost all mainstream media is going big on trashing Cybertruck. It’s all because of clicks. Tesla being Tesla doesn’t give a S***. They know Cybertruck’s real potential. They are letting the product sell itself. When you have a S*** product, then marketing it more will make the entire world know you have a piece of junk. When you have gold, it doesn’t matter what everyone is saying, gold will sell itself! I’m assuming Tesla is just letting Cybertruck market itself. Probably this strategy should be thought in Marketing 101 classes!
