Well that can't be true. I rolled out of bed at like 2 or 3am EST and placed my order. Don't know if I could tell you exactly when because the email didn't come through until the next day. But I didn't wait up to watch the event, and when I rolled over in the middle of the night, I got my phone out, saw the truck, and reserved one.

Do you say that just based on him getting a couple trucks early and his outspoken love of their engineering or is it something else?
I for one am looking forward to anyone taking it apart, although if that person was impartial it would be a huge plus.

I agree. I like the guy but he might have bought them, but what he doesn't say, I didn't have to wait in line for it speaks volumes. There are several videos from Cybertruck launch day were he admits he did not even put in a reservation.

I’d much rather let sandy do a teardown and get a few suggested fixes to Tesla plus let the early few thousand prototype vehicles get rapidly iterated and upgraded before I get mine. There are so many issues with them right now, I know the fomo is strong and it’s an awesome truck but TRUST me, it’s going to be so much better and have hundreds of little fixes after 6 months of production!

Why do you think so? Is it because you think Sandy has turned into a Tesla fanboy? He is a fan of excellent engineering. Apparently Tesla fits the bill. He has been warning on BYD taking over Tesla in the US, and he appreciates BYD engineering as well. So I don’t think Munro is compromised.

The only time I take Sandy’s comments with a grain of salt is when he talks about towing. He is not a typical Truck towing guy. So sometimes he misses to consider few things on towing. He primarily uses his truck for hunting and road trips. Otherwise, I see most of his technical analysis are spot on when it comes to tear down and structural engineering.
