VW leadership may have gotten nervous about entering the low volume BEV pickup truck space. The vast majority of reservation holders reserved the gas/electric option.

Maybe they are delaying production until SS battery cells are in volume production. They are the holy grail for mass EV adoption.

In this fast paced world of EVs the field becomes extremely crowded each year production is delayed. Priorities and interests change among enthusiasts and demand may ween. Cost over runs keeping engineers,production specialists,and staff without return on investment will surely drive costs up. Interesting to see where this goes.

Yeah I wanted an ability to put a utility pole through the trunk and out the back. Such a cool idea. I drive by Bolingers old shuttered offices when I am in Michigan and whimper every now and then.

The Rivian software isn't expected in Porsche vehicles until late 27 or 2028. This too may be the same bottleneck. Porsche software and app is abysmal. Their in-house Cariad software effort has not gone well.
