Seat Foam Squeaking

My front driver seat makes a squeak, creak or rubbing sound when you push your shoulders back or side to side. This motion naturally happens when driving so it constantly sounds like something is rubbing inside the back padding.

From this diagram it looks like it's the heating mat (4) that sits between the seat cover (1) and seat foam (7) is rubbing against the foam?

Rear seats make this sound too and it's even louder. It appears to be a systemic design flaw. Other Tesla seats don't have this heat pad insert between the leather cover and foam. I can't be the only one noticing this noise.

Mine squeaks but it's only the driver's seat. The rest are ok.

the squeak I found was the leather of the seat rubbing the leather of the center console. I had to put some felt tape on the center console to stop it. Both sides were doing it, even when nobody was sitting in the seat

Mine does that too. This squeak is coming from inside the seat back padding.

My driver seat had this same issue, very loud. I just got my truck back from service for the 2nd time and the sound is gone, for now. The tech notes said they applied some lubricant to the inner part of the seat that was making the noise. We’ll see if it lasts! Now I’m just trying to resolve this rubbing sound coming from where the dash meets driver side door panel.

did your creaking noise sound like this? Almost sounds like popping noise. I cant tell where its coming from. Some from the back but I swear I hear it in the front dash too.

Here’s what they did to fix mine. It was more of a creak like in the video than a squeak if that makes sense; lower pitched like a boat creak.

I have this creak. Service appointment said its fixed, but it was not. I can sometimes make it go away temporarily if i adjust the lumber support. I guess i need to make another service appointment for it.

No popping noise for me, but the driver seat makes the same creaking noise when pressure applied for any direction.

Tesla replaced the entire seat for the fix?? I need to submit a ticket for this next time I’m going to the SC.

I have this same exact noise. First started last August and the service center has put insulation tape inside which would make it go away temporarily. Is your seat back pocket also feel loose? Mine is loose on one side which may be part of the issues.

I’m bringing mine back to service for the 3rd time this week, hoping for a full replacement.

Update: I just went in for the third time to get my squeaky seat fixed. Within five minutes of arriving, they told me the seat will be replaced—but they have to order it first.

Before this visit, I even messaged them asking if a replacement seat could be in stock, given this was my third trip for the same issue. Apparently, that's not how they operate.

Now I’m looking at a fourth visit just to (hopefully) get this resolved.

Up until now, my experience with Tesla service has been solid. But needing four trips and driving hundreds of miles to fix a seat squeak is pretty disappointing.
