Tried for second time to take CT delivery, this time for a 37xxx vin FS with all the incentives. Some cosmetic issues present at delivery (cantrail fitment and panel scratch, inner door oxidation) that I was willing to look past but had a nasty dash rattle that surfaced before I even left the lot. The dash rattle has been a pretty common complaint but I didn’t want to take delivery at least until after that is addressed. Deciding next steps after they fix but pretty bummed. There’s nothing else on market that checks the boxes the CT does but I’m struggling to get one delivered without issues. I love the FS incentives but I guess I could go back to a 2025 if that really moves the reliability forward.

GX550 only ICE car remotely interesting as a substitute. Model Y my next electric and I don’t really like/trust the rivians.

Thoughts? Dash rattle remedy pretty straightforward? Does it reoccur? Really trying to avoid a service center queen.

Mine has a little dash rattle but I just don't care. I only hear it sometimes and usually I'm playing music anyways. I really only notice if I think about it or try to hear it.

I have a dash rattle due to the steering wheel being all the way extended. It a piece of trim that barely touches the wheel at full length, so it rattles. I put a tiny piece of rubber gasket I had between the two, and have forgot all about it until this post.

Never heard of that complaint. I’d ask the SC what the fix is and judge from there.

This rattle was VERY noticeable….tech didn’t even try to argue/downplay it. Interestingly it was at full wheel extension so maybe that’s the issue.

Hmmm. I Have the rattle on bumpy roads only and I too have the steering squircle at full extension. I’ll have to put a rubber somewhere. Can you send pics?

I’d make sure they note the dash rattle and happy take delivery with free supercharging before it’s gone.

Tesla Cybertruck Second time not a charm…. IMG_1055

pretty straightforward. At full extension this little piece pops out of the guide. Extend all the way out and then push it back in the guide and just set your steering wheel to a hair away from full extension.

I used to have a dash rattle, then it rattled itself silent. ?‍♂

Frankly, I never really cared to begin with as that's just my personality--I prefer to focus on function over form, and a rattle is the least of my concerns. But I get that it bugs some people.

Hey any chance you could post a picture of this and what you did to resolve it with the rubber gasket? I have the something similar and the SC said it was because the wheel is too forward as well, they said they resolved it but its still there, I was wondering if what you did would fix it. Thanks, Appreciate it.

Since you’ve already tried twice, I’d give up on the FS and just get a 2025 build. The newer VINs will / should have less build issues.

Mine is a 52xxx built on November 15, 2024 and it’s been 99% solid.

Had the same rattle yesterday. SC moved wheel inwards by a mm, and its totally gone. Probably should be a firmware update to limit range slightly.
