I've had my CT since August 2025 and have avoided taking it through ANY automatic car wash. I don't mean to start a civil war here, but if I'm making life to hard on myself by only hand washing, I would like to know.

Tried an automatic car wash with brushes and it messed up my PPF.

Really depends on the quality if the place. You still may end up with superficial scratches. I did going through a scrub a dub once…good news is its an easy fix

For wrapped cars (PPF or vinyl) you can’t go through anything with brushes. Touch-less or hand wash only.

A naked CT I would only do touch-less as well, I am to afraid of a brush getting caught on a panel.

Blitzen is wrapped and coated, so I asked my local car wash to retract the brushes and stick to wash, rinse, and blow-dry only. The side brushes still give the truck a gentle tap on the sides, and the cloth strips flop across the hood and roof, but overall it does a decent job. I still have to hand-finish the tailgate and rear bumper.

But let me offer one important public service announcement: remove any magnetic stickers before entering. In late 2024 we had some cool magnetic flames on the sides, and the car wash didn’t just knock them off — it devoured them like a hungry machine beast. 😆

So CyberGus was absolutely right. My shredded flames were the sad, tattered evidence.

Yeah I get a piece or two of brush fuzz every time I go through. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been using the self wash at a car wash as those springing brush machines at my local place always miss something. A few minutes with the handled soap brush does wonders.

I only use a full touch-brush car wash and never had a problem.

Love the Full brush automatic car wash on the naked Cybertruck and have been through at least 100 times. It does leave micro marks from the brushes, but it actually leaves a more uniform shine compared to original finish and I get it graphene waxed every time. I love how it always beads in the rain and resists finger prints.
