Thought I'd share some observations from my Powershare site inspection this morning.

This company is the only one permitted to install Powershare in state of Connecticut
They've been overwhelmed by Tesla lately - sending them lots of jobs to quote
Many of the folks they've been scheduling quotes for don't know what Powershare is - they're spending lots of time explaining. (This strikes me as very odd)
FWIW, Installer said given the ramp, it feels to them like Tesla preparing to drop a bunch of Cybertruck deliveries on the state
Mine was prolly the second or third site inspection they've done so far
Our install looks pretty easy (have solar, have an EVSE wired to garage, have a gas generator & cutoff switch & circuitry)
BUT the Town inspectors seem to requiring 6 gauge wiring with conduit, ours is 6 gauge Romex.
Also need to run a communication wire between EVSE and new Tesla Gateway

As always, time will tell, and the I'm sure the quote will be surprisingly expensive.

Im supposed to be getting my quote today as well. he said it will likely be $3400-$4100.

My question, is why cant I install a box and panel switch for use with a gas generator and then simply connect the cybertruck 240v to it?

Romex is a poor choice for an EVSE, since the wires have little ability to shed heat.

Welcome to capitalism and monopoly.

I had the Tesla approved PowerShare installer email me wanting to estimate install costs back on March 13th. I quickly followed up with the info he needed. There has been some back-and-forth exchange of info. Now nothing. I email and ask when will I get an estimate, and no response. Patience grasshopper!
