It's back!

When it was cold in MN the regen vibrate completely went away. Now that it's warming up, the vibrate is back. Anyone else experiencing this?

I still have a really hard regen vibration, can reproduce every time. I go up to 47 then just let off just slightly, almost in-between releasing pedal and pressure on the pedal, just in-between, it has a hard regen down to 44. Sometimes at higher speeds, can reproduce also, 62mph and slight release. I've been monitoring, doesn't affect performance or range at all, but it's there for sure. I also have a pretty pronounced chirp (which I know is mostly normal) from 30-40mph, just seems annoyingly higher pitched than normal. I have a small vacation coming up so will probably schedule service appointment in April, just to make sure the regen isn't an inverter, half-shaft, general motor, etc. They'll for sure hear it like I do, so just want to make sure. Others have had their motor(s) replaced and regen disappeared.

Keep us posted what SC says. When I brought in mine I couldn't get them to do anything. But that was like 6 months ago. Appears the replacement motor may be related to the permanent magnet, which means the motor that needs to be replaced will depend on if you have a AWD or beast.

Ah, that’s true. Remember hearing about the permanent magnet and yep, mine is awd.

I put in a ticket for my issue again about two weeks ago. Tesla took another ride and verified the vibration. They replaced the front motor (Cyber Beast), and the vibration has been resolved.

Here are the service notes:

Technician inspected the vehicle and confirmed noise from the front drive unit. The issue as caused by a problem with the drive unit, leading to the decision to replace it. The front drive unit was replaced, and a four-wheel alignment was performed to ensure proper vehicle handling. After the replacement and alignment, the technician verified that the noise was no longer present.

DRIVE UNIT - DUAL & TRI-MOTOR (1920000-T1-L)
COOLANT, ETHYLENE GLYCOL,.50/50 MIX-1 Gallon (1029320-00-A)

I recommend putting in a new service ticket to revisit the issue if you've taken it in previously. The technician also installed my Lightbar. I had to supply the email confirming it was available, similar to the email we received a few months ago about the wheel covers.

Very good to hear. I have my appointment scheduled for this Wednesday to address this. Mine is very easy to reproduce so I'm hopeful they'll easily reproduce also. I have a drop-off scheduled at 6am, shows they open at 8, wish I could have tech ride with me, but it's so easily reproduced, I'm sure they'll hear/feel it. Fingers crossed. Front unit had previously been replaced so not sure if it's coming from that or rear permanent magnet one, I have the non-foundation.

The rear motor will likely be replaced if you have a dual motor. It took them about three days to get the new motor in. At least the loaner was a Model X Plaid. Unfortunately, it had the 85mph limit, though.

I hear they're doing limited cybertruck loaners lately. Would be nice.

Yep, service just called and said the front drive unit is the culprit. They're replacing it and will swap today, so most likely I'll get back Monday or Tuesday he said.
Interesting they said the front drive unit even though yours is an AWD, correct? Looking forward to hearing if replacing solves the problem!

Yeah, same thoughts I had, crossing my fingers it's resolved. Hoping to hear something today but they have it scheduled for tomorrow.
