no different to putting L2 plug-in chargers in every spot, with the exception inductive hardware is going to be more expensive.
The UWC costs $500, plus a pedestal. How much does an inductive pad cost?

The charge cable has a limited lifespan, and is subject to damage/vandalism. The inductive pads could have cost parity with cabled charging in the long-term.

Cables are expensive, have limited lifespan, and are subject to vandalism. Assuming the charge mats can be produced cheaply enough, they can be installed in every parking spot to avoid competition for spaces.
Do you know what the cost and lifespan of a cable is?

Superchargers are rated for a specific number of connect/disconnect cycles before the plug is considered sufficiently worn. The UWC has a 4-year warranty.

I used to have one reserved, too, back in 2009 - before they went bankrupt and got sold. I hope they are successful this time around but I'm not holding my breath.
How much was the reservation deposit in 2009?

This time around it was only $75. So not much to lose. I think they have a huge struggle ahead but that any bankruptcy would happen *after* they produce a few thousand. I hope they make it, against all odds.

I don't think they will *ever* make the 1000-mile version. Almost no one needs that kind of range with the rate at which Superchargers are growing (and how easy it will be to charge it on a 120 volt outlet). The extra weight (and cost) of the batteries will not be worth the fact that it can go 1000 miles in one go. I know I'm going to want to stop after no more than 150-200 miles (probably more than once).

It was $500 back then but I actually got it back. It was fully refundable and I jumped once the writing was on the wall.
