The so called 'misalignment' shown is likely very minor, but the insecure ones out there will be looking for anything to negative hype to naive consumers.

Two things affect that alignment. One, it could just be the door latch catch bar itself needing slight adjustment. Two, it could be a combination of front hinge mount adjustments and the latch catch bar. In the latter case the door might not shut smoothly even if the catch bar is aligned properly, due to misaligned hinges attempting to make the door land higher or lower, but it's still easily adjusted.

In both cases, the corrective adjustments are very simple and can be done usually in less than 10 or 15 minutes. Many people can do it themselves, and competent mobile service certainly can do it. It's certainly not anything to write a critical article about, unless one is trying to present negativity to those who are uninformed.

Tesla has obviously got better things to be focusing on right now, besides things that actually are not an issue and easily adjustable. But that's one of the things I was pointing out in previous posts about workmanship in the public view, was that the insecure ones are going to put out anything negative that they can, if they think there are naive uniformed people that will buy into it.

So I think this is expected, but when more VINs released into the wild and seen as not having such issues with door alignments, then the public will know, but haters will still exaggerate anything they can. We had the same type of thing happen when the Model 3 first ramped, but Tesla got more proficient over time and many of the newer Model Ys have a much tighter fit and alignment of panels coming off the line. Because this particular alignment procedure is similar across different models, I don't expect this to be a repeated trend with early Cybertruck VINs, because the learning curve (should be) mostly behind them. I actually noticed the same thing in earlier CT prototypes but didn't say anything because it's a minor adjustment that's necessary on every VIN.

When Franz was loading his two kids and shutting the doors on the driver's side of that CT prototype he brought to the Peterson museum, I was paying attention to those door alignments and operation, and as I recall that one looked pretty good to me. So the door alignments can vary sometimes until they are carefully adjusted.

But, some Tesla employees might want to strive for more attention to detail keeping in mind the perceptions started by early and first impressions of a door misalignment even if they're easily correctable, because many do not know how easy this type of misalignment is to adjust. The MSM and haters will try to prey on those without certain knowledge.

End of the day it's just another 'nothing burger' they're trying to hype.

it's an expected reaction for ICE legacy trucks because this vehicle could spell their doom.
