They did the exact same thing with my CT. It did not fix the vibration. I think it is a bad weld (or some kind of complex non mechanical defect) and air is flowing through some interior space causing the panels to flex. I drove through some strong winds where the doors felt like they were being pulled open. It was very unusual and I have seen a lot of even stronger winds and never felt like the doors were flexing in any other vehicle.
I have not had high wind since taking delivery but I do notice some whistling at higher speeds that might correlate with the vibration. I was only experiencing the vibration through the pedal and it seamed stronger during regen. It also did not get progressively worse the higher the speed it also seamed to behave the same regardless of my traveling direction relative to wind direction. Hard to test it out now because I don’t have it.
How was your service experience? I’m having a terrible time getting any feedback or communication from service.

I have about 1200 miles on my CT with about half that being highway driving and absolutely never experienced any kind of vibrations. To the contrary the drive is remarkably smooth given the huge tires. This is definitely not normal. This must be terribly frustrating and I hope they find and fix your issue.

I wouldn’t say the ride quality is rough. It’s really just a noticeable vibration from the floor and the steering wheel. Most of the surfaces that have more padding seem to be fine. There is some noise but not even that much for AT tires. It’s pretty weird.

I have a vibration that seems abnormal but it is like a buzzing that you feel in the steering wheel and the floor. It starts around 65 mph (I believe) and just never goes away. It really vibrates so much my hands get fatigued. I’ve put probably 1500 miles of freeway driving on my CT and most of that was between TX and CO so I’ve had a lot of time to ponder this issue. My VIN is ~2100.

Tesla took a look at it and sent it up to engineering and the SC guy told me they replaced the drive unit. However when I just checked my invoice they didn’t document this. And after I took the vehicle back it was still vibrating the same.

But I know I had this conversation with the SC guy and my feeling is they’ve somehow avoided putting it in writing because it might be a known defect that has no current resolution. It seems pretty messed up that they would tell me they replaced a drive unit and then in their notes claim there was no problem. You can see my invoice notes which mentions that they balanced the tires because they were out of spec. Even in my chat history the SC guy does not get into the vibration issue but they held my CT for a whole week waiting for the word from engineering.

My Rivian R1T also had very loud AT tires but this did not result in the same kind of vibration through the floor and the steering wheel. I have a few other late model off road vehicles with large AT tires and they do not buzz through the steering wheel and floor like this.

I’ve scheduled another appointment so we’ll see what happens this time.

My tentative theory based on my experience driving through some strong gusts that caused the doors to feel like they were being pulled open is that some welds holding the panels on either have voids or there might be some areas where the adhesive has failed or also contains voids and air is being pushed into places that it doesn’t belong and that is causing all of the issues. I’m planning to drive another CT to see if it behaves differently.

I'm taking my CT to the SC in Naperville, IL this morning to have similar vibration in the steering wheel at 55 to 65 mph diagnosed and corrected. I'm hoping all that's needed is wheel balancing. I had the loose foam problem fixed last week by Tesla replacing the tire with a new one. When I first complained about the vibration I had less than 500 miles on the vehicle.

The Tesla Service Center people compared my "rumble/vibration" symptoms with another CT they have on site licensed for the road. They said that the same characteristic low frequency noise + vibration exists on that truck, as on mine, if somewhat less pronounced. They think it's caused by the all terrain tires. Anyway, they rebalanced all four wheels on my CT, and although the symptoms I complained about are still happening between 55 and 65 mph, it's not as bad. The tech also checked that all the foam was firmly attached. Is it common for aggressive tread tires to produce noise and vibration that varies with speed? These Goodyear tires were custom made for the Cybertruck. Hmmm . . .

Oh, and I asked him if tire problems were covered under warranty. In the case of foam separation, yes. They will replace a faulty tire with a cost adjustment for wear. The manager said that telling people to take up the problem of foam separation with Goodyear is not official Tesla policy.

I made another appointment with my local Tesla SC for June 19th. The vibration that starts at 53 mph is still present after they have ruled out wheel imbalance. The manager is consulting other service personnel for any ideas as to a possible source for the problem. I'm guessing it's the front drive train (motor, gear box, universal joints, etc.). Someone on this forum wrote that Tesla replaced the whole front drive train to eliminate a vibration problem.

I am having the same issue. I have a 9xx vin also AWD its driving me nuts discount tired has balanced the tires twice now
My Tesla service center was able to verify the vibration in my CT as abnormal using a sensitive vibration tester and got the okay from Austin to replace both drive motors. Needless to say, it's not an overnight operation. My truck has been in the shop going on 4 weeks now. Today I received word that the front and rear motors have been replaced, but a firmware update for the rear motor failed. The rear motor is an improved version that has been going out to some CT owners, so that may be the reason. I'm hoping to get my truck back next week. I suggest making an appointment with your SC and get them to take your truck out for a test drive. It took me four appointments to finally get some action taken on my problem, so keep pushing (nicely) for a resolution.

I brought my AWD Cybertruck in on Monday for slight vibration starting at 40is but really noticeable at 44 and above 70. They told me on Wednesday they could not get it fixed so they asked corporate engineers for help. Yesterday they told me a new front drive unit was ordered because the original one was faulty and they don’t know how to fix it at this time.
I would certainly bring it in.
good luck.
Thank you!! This is exactly what I have as well. The motor whine is also not constant like I’m used to with a Tesla and has a high pitched pulse rather than constant.
