There are a few of us who have fun actually driving our CTs as opposed to using FSD. Is ASS now a subset of FSD subscriptions, or is it as separate feature? Now that my free trials finally ended, I was wondering if all of us will get some ASS, or if you have to buy ASS with FSD?

Spoken like a true person who hasn’t experienced the latest FSD version. Bless your heart!

I have to admit that as much as I like FSD and have been using it since day one beta I only use it about 49% of the time in my CyberBeast. I get 70+ percent in my model S and my wife is 98% in her model X. Like you say, some of us like to drive the damn thing! It rips and I love ripping it!!!

As to your other question, it’s a good one. Since the CT doesn’t get auto pilot there’s no reason to assume that you would get ASS without FSD. It certainly would not be what anybody’s expectation was in 2023/2024 but it certainly seems like that’s the most likely outcome at this point.

I’ve never bought a Tesla without buying or transferring FSD to it so this doesn’t affect me, but damn that kind of sucks. Before all of this auto pilot and summon were just some of the cool futuristic things you got by being one of the cool kids who bought a Tesla; if it’s locked behind a subscription I’d call that unfortunate. It’s too strong a word, but it is some variety of enshitification.

@mahdir35 : I had FSD until early May. How many new versions of FSD have come out in the last 33 days? In my area it routinely misreads speed limits and does not maneuver around the collapsed shoulders and massive potholes that some of my local towns are full of. I drive local routes to jobsites. I do not have an hour commute to work. In my situation, it is more stressful preventing my truck from driving 25 in a 45 zone and hitting huge potholes at 45 MPH than it is taking the wheel myself for 15 minute or so drives. (It IS a sports car disguised as a large pickup).
You are blessed with smooth roads that do not see winter destruction. I'm guessing you don't drive a ton of lightly traveled secondary roads with constantly changing speed zones. If I had to go into Boston every morning, I surely would have bought my FSD outright when I bought my truck. But in Central Mass the roads are fair to suckish. I rarely take the Mass Pike. But I do often take the Podunk Pike. (For realz!)

“The pickup that can pick you up,” and also (with toybox/boombox) it can do its own Mr. Microphone commercial!

I'm not sure about the CT but ASS is part of FSD with my M3P and MYP.
