They had only 1,000 owners on there form some hack. They had pretty much all of their information, including some of their significant others information, where they work, home addresses, etc.I looked at the site last night and there were 3 people listed within 150 mile radius of KC and I know there are a lot more owners than that, so even if these are legit owners it is some smaller subset, likely hacked from some 3rd party system where Tesla owners have signed up for something with a 3rd party, it is certainly not all Tesla owners worldwide. When I checked the site today it didn't respond.
As far as worrying goes, the site has to be hosted somewhere which means there is a host to contact, the site hosting was probably paid for with someone's credit card, perhaps that of the people who are anti-Tesla which would provide further information about those responsible for such a site and last but not least as soon as Elon got wind of it I'm sure he called a few friends to look into it and take care of it.
Except it wasn't false. It was real info from a hack, which is why the website was shutdown. As I said above, it will pop back up, again, but owners who had their info released would more than likely not be ok with it.

Was there any solid proof that actual owner data was leaked, or is this just speculation? The site being “taken down” doesn’t automatically validate the claim of a data breach. As someone else mentioned, this seems more like a baseless attempt at fear-mongering.
Yes one of the articles that I posted shows people being interviewed that had their actual information on the website. There’s absolutely nothing to indicate that this is a hoax.
I don’t believe that that was from BI.
