For example, in Colorado we can only use the force necessary to stop the damage short of deadly force, unless it escalates to fearing for your life. But Texas, you can use deadly force. Also what sucks is Colorado isn’t a stand your ground state.

Is it legal to pepper spray (or use non-lethal force on) someone who is currently in the act of defacing or vandalizing your vehicle?

What if the person is using their finger to write an obscene message on your vehicle?

What if they run away when you catch them vandalizing your vehicle? Is it legal to simply chase them? Is it legal to chase them and also use non-lethal force on them?

I imagine context is key. Any legal pros/gurus who can chime in?

Citizen's arrest is usually legal too. You have to check your state laws on this. But here are some guidelines for CA Penal Code 837:

California Penal Code 837 PC says a private person can make a citizen's arrest only in the following situations:

When another person commits or attempts to commit a misdemeanor offense in the citizen's presence;

When the citizen knows that someone committed a felony but not in their presence;

When a felony offense has been committed, and the citizen has reasonable cause to believe that the person did commit the crime.

Yes, This is opposition to Elon. If Tesla were to ask Elon to step down then the animus towards Tesla and its customers/supporters would stop. It is just free speech and the inevitable consequences. We should celebrate such freedom until it taken away.

That is correct, but I hope he does not. It's not a good lesson to show: "everyone hated this man, and they staged massive protests, and blackmailed owners of his products, then he stepped down, and everyone was happy." Lethal force for property is a very slippery slope to say the least. Better be sure the perp is lethally armed (and a clear, provable threat) before anyone engages such. Just sayin. Those that may "carry" should already know this. Pepper spray of course is fine, but be aware that sometimes this just escalates things if they are not adversely affected (enough) by it... Be safe.

Depends on the state. In Oklahoma, if someone breaks into your garage, it's considered part of your house and you can shoot them to defend yourself. You don't have to check to see if they are armed before you shoot them or wait for them to draw a weapon on you. It can vary widely state by state.
