Most of the Bitcoin mining happens closer to the power sources, using excess/wasted energy.Crypot has some great and fascinating uses, but bitcoin specifically lost that chance ages ago. It just uses too much power to transact now and has no real path to changing that.

Gas is about the same price as it was months ago, though admittedly I very rarely buy any. $3.10 in April, $3.08 in September, $3.20 just glancing at a pump recently while laughing in my Tesla.
