Tesla also patented a laser windshield whacker. How many of you expect that to be in the CT. It is fine to speculate but let’s at least try to use some common sense about it.

It sounds way cooler than it is. It's described as "laser blade electromagnetic windshield wipers". A laser blade is still a rubber blade, the electromagnetic part means it slides side to side on electromagnetic top and bottom rails. Kind of like the rails automatic seat belts used to slide on, back when they were cool in the 80's. I thought it was gonna be fucking lasers blasting the rain water away, but alas, I think it's too easy to misinterpret.

Fear not my nerdy friends! There are actually two patents here. One is for a magnetic slide rail wind shield wiper. The other, ACTUAL LASERS lol!

I have no idea what will make it in to the CT, but the laser thing is legit. It's more of a debris remover, not a "wipe". It is not intended to work on things like water/rain. I think there was a lot of confusion about that. It would not replace the function of wipers, but it would vaporize bird poop!

Was anyone able to find a copy of the patent application? I wasn't.

For some reason the US Patent Office website isn't working on my phone. Tried a 3rd party website with success:
https://www.freepatentsonline.com/20190351873.pdf
https://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-adv.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&d=PG01&S1=20190351873&OS=20190351873&RS=20190351873 (my phone hates this)

Edit: Oh shoot, which patent were you looking for? I just assumed the laser thing since I love lasers...
Here's the electromagnetic wipers, this is a series of patents. You can see the links from one page:
https://www.freepatentsonline.com/10889267.html

I didn't search for the angular glass application, but there is a few interesting ones for the "armor glass" if you're looking for those. But the best thing for that is to youtube how gorilla glass is made, almost the same thing, slightly different ingredients.

I was thinking it would zap the bugs before they can splat on the truck. One can dream.

I haven't found the patent talked about anywhere else, it was in that patent dump that was in the news a couple weeks ago.

Or just cook 'em extra crispy. Then will just bounce off without having any chance of making the windshield look like my splavatar (splat avatar).
