This is a recent pix of my 2007 FJ with 285,000 miles on it. I gave it to my son when I got my Beast. I expect my CT to be in just as good if not better shape in 18 years. Me…. not so much.

Modern Toyota quality is no different than Kia. Your FJ is from the golden era.

Believe what you think is right, but I can guarantee you, you would be making a mistake. The collective wisdom here is gonna be better than just about anybody who doesn’t have “VP” or above after their name at Tesla.

Service center and sell staff folks are notoriously out of the loop at Tesla. We’ve demonstrated that time and again. If something’s going on with CT, right here is where you should start.

Hell, even the FUDsters and lurking journalists know that.
Your comments mirror my personal experience.

This isn't always the case. MY 2019 MX right now—CarMax offered 28K, third party dealers both offered 30k (low end of KBB) and Tesla offered 31.5K soo...
I also got a better deal from Tesla on a M3P trade in than CarMax and Carvana offered.

She’s a beauty. Love my FJ so much!!
I find it kind of funny, my FJ had a range of 275 miles from full to fumes so a usable range of 250 unless I was really sure I’d find gas on that last 1-2 gallons. The CT seems pretty similar for normal driving.

So you went from 3 wiper blades to 1. Have something against a “normal” car with a pair of wipers?

Absolutely 100% the same. Range anxiety in both of them!

I would believe “sales staff” over a bunch of random-yahoos on CyberTruck Forums
Really! Are you interested in some swamp land I have for sale in the Florida everglades?

I had my cybertruck in for service on 4/9/25. I was previously told by a sales person in La Jolla that I couldn't trade in my cybertruck within the first year. I'm allowed to sell it third market like private party and Carmax, but not through Tesla. I checked in with the sales staff and was informed that Tesla will not take Cybertrucks in trade now or in the future. This really tells you what Tesla thinks of the Cybertruck, they don't want them either.
I know someone who just traded theirs in at Tesla and got a model x because their family grew

It's fine. You never want to sell *any* vehicle back to Tesla, anyway. You will do much better on CarMax. Even better with private sale if you are willing to go through the hassle. To be fair, this is true for any car dealership.
Not always true. I just traded a ‘23 Ford F150 King Ranch (18k miles) in on my new Cybertruck last month. Tesla offered $49k. Car max offered $51k. A local dealer in Delray Beach offered $51.5. However, by trading in I saved 6% Florida sales tax on the trade value against the purchase price of the CT (we only pay tax on the difference after trade). That amounted to roughly $3k in tax savings, which when added to the trade price made the Tesla trade value 52k to me, so they won the bid. It also significantly reduced hassle and allowed me to transfer our personalized plate to the new truck. It pays to check all the alternatives.
