I mean, the Rivian is nice and all, but the short bed and $$$$ make it an immediate non-starter compared to the CT, right?

Disregard the fact that I've been pining for another forest green car since my 1999 Escort.
Disregard the fact that that Forest Edge interior option is so...perfectly tasteful. An incredible combination of materials and design.
Disregard that we know a LOT about the R1T, and see some incredibly innovative uses of space that seem very functional and not contrived.
Disregard the fact that I can get one probably a year sooner than I'll get my CT (at least).
Disregard the fact that we camp 6x+ times a year with the kids and the planned destination chargers align with some of our favorite spots.

I'm trying to stay the course, guys, I really am. How do I stay faithful to my CT reservation?
Go get your Green on Green Rivian and get out of the Tesla Line PLEASE lol

And since you have a family to consider how well does Rivian’s safety stand up to Tesla’?

I guess it comes down to how much you value the design match your personal preference.

The Cybertruck trimotor is pretty far ahead of everyone else if we look at performance. You are getting the dual motor so the gap isn't as large. As for the other Tesla specific features / benefits like their charging network and software, you just need to decide if you are really going to utilize those features or if they will matter to you at all if you don't have them.

If you can live with those difference between the R1T and Cybertruck, it just comes down to whether you are willing to spend the extra 37K for the design of the vehicle. You also mentioned that it's only 17k more than the Trimotor, but if you are either getting the dual motor CT or R1T, then 37k is the more accurate number for the difference. But that might be worth it, you are going seeing the interior every day and it would be good to make sure you are happy with what you are seeing.

It's also possible to see what the cost might be to have the seats custom done to be forest green, maybe a forest green border for the display, steering wheel cover. I really have no idea how much that would be, but 37k can buy a lot of customizations.

The marshmallow test sounds like what we are currently going through with Tesla stock. Part of the problem is how do you know that we will reliably be rewarded with the stock value doubling, let alone increasing.:ROFLMAO:
Awww shucks… You we’re talking about stock price. For a second there I thought you were going to tell us our patience would be rewarded by getting 2 CTs for each one we ordered.

well.....its ( the CT ) cheaper with higher performance. Plus I don't like the look of the Rivian.

In a word: Stainless, my dude.
Honestly one of the best things about the Cybertruck in my opinion. I love my vehicles and if someone scratches my paint in the parking lot, I would be pissed. Even my jeep that I have rolled offroad, has more scratches than I can count. If I buy something on the way home with it and come out to the parking lot to see a scratch or a dent that I didn't put there, I'd be annoyed.

My friends are annoyed when I drive when we go shopping because I don't care how big of a parking lot it is or if it is raining, we are parking at the back.

The Cybertruck will be different, I could park in a tight space if I feel like it and be worry free. The worst thing that could accidentally happen is someone opens their door too hard and I have to wipe off the paint that came from their door.

Well if someone doesn’t like your parking job or your CT in general, they could just slash your tires. Luckily the CT will have sentry mode though so you might get the satisfaction of having them arrested. So there is that…

Not being able to see the final design for the CT after six months, along with all the changes and higher prices at Tesla has me a little concerned as well.

After six months? What happened six months ago? They'd only really have to share stuff with us if they were worried about their investment.

Raised prices would only matter if Tesla wasn't being able to ramp up its production, which it has been. Or if it wasn't able to sell them, which is has been.

Higher prices means more capital to support the roll-out of the Cybertruck.

They're good signs, not bad ones.
