I feel the same way. SBW is amazing and now I don't want to drive anything else. I think that is the one technology from the CT that will get adopted by other manufactures, but I don't think they will be able to do it until the adopt the 48v system to power it. I really hope Tesla plans to bring it to the rest of their cars with each next refresh.

After driving Cybertruck home this weekend for 2 hours and then jumping in Model 3 to go pick up pizza, it hit me, I actually don't enjoy driving the Model 3 anymore and I actually, legit, loved that car and it's become unenjoyable. It's insane!

It totally feels like going from dial up Internet to broadband or going from an outhouse to indoor plumbing.

Like you have broadband but go to a friends house and use their dial up and are like "Man this sucks"

Or you use their outhouse and are like "Man this really sucks!"

Other than necessity you will never ever say, it's fun to go surf the Internet on dial up or keep an outhouse in the backyard to go have fun every once and a while lol

That's how awesome steer by wire is! ?

And traditional steering wheels are friggin huge!!! ?

Am I crazy or is really that game changing?
Exactly the way I would describe it myself. I LOVED my M3P before. Now it never gets driven. ?

I wonder if the steering control will move when FSD is engaged. No mechanical reason that it has to.. i suppose theres a safety component, like the control being in position with the wheels In case driver needs to take over… though on the highway that shouldnt matter much, control input is way less on highway.
I wondered the same thing… tesla could also make it such that whenever unsupervised FSD is engaged input on the steering control will have no effect. ?

men, you guys are slamming M3-but when I received my 2018 M3 RWD after after waiting for 2 years, 2 months and 4 days after the reservation- I was so amazed-I told my friends, neighbors and co workers that switching to EV is like removing the training wheels on kids' bike.
Cybertruck is raising the bars once again-Go Tesla!

It's awesome but I do still like driving my Rav4, even though I've grown accustomed to not needing to pull keys out of my pocket or turn the ignition. Funny thing is I'm not sure what has a better tuning radius.. the 2012 Rav4 or the Cyber Truck! lol That rear wheel steering is just the greatest.

I can’t wait until unsupervised FSD comes and I can play beach buggy with the steering, acceleration and brake pedal while the ct takes me to work.

Took delivery today and YES steer by wire is strange. It's so freaking sensitive and the turn radius? OMG! It's like a car. Wow! It's so badass and I have quickly adapated to everything, rear view mirror viewing being the only thing I need a little more mile driving to but it's going great so far.

There were three of us in line today picking up Cybertrucks. I helped a couple with their first Tesla (Model Y). I told them its game over now that they have gone Tesla. ha!

I took in my CT for service a few weeks ago. They gave me a Model S Plaid as a loaner with the yoke steering wheel. I came from a Model 3 Performance before CT, fast, but nothing like the S Plaid. Hated the yoke on the S. So cumbersome to turn, could never tell which way was up while turning the yoke. Steer by wire with a yoke is a totally different story. The S was so fast and quiet, but felt too low to the ground, the seat back wouldn't go forward far enough so I felt awkward in the seat. The worst, the button for the horn. So happy to be back in the Cybertruck. Oh, FSD 12.4 on the S was fantastic. I do miss having FSD, but 2 more weeks....

Test drove a CT this morning. The steer by wire/progressive steering was the first thing I commented on. It's awesome. It locks out with less then 180 degree turn, which was more then enough to pull a uturn. The one foot driving would take a little getting used to and I'm not sure if there are different levels of Regen breaking, but this truck "braked" pretty hard when I left off the pedal. Overall, I was impressed with how it rode and felt throughout the drive. Now they just need to add some range, cut the price, and ideally find a way to reduce the weight a little more. So that and I'm sold!

I nearly wrecked my M3P the first time I drove it after having the CT for about a week. It's insane how good the SBW is compared to the 'old' setup. The M3P feels absolutely sloppy in comparison to the CT. Looking forward to them making this in upcoming models other than the CT.

It's how all Tesla vehicles drive. There are some EVs that allow you to alter the regen - and the CT's offroad mode allows for some flexibility as well - but you QUICKLY get used to it, and grow to prefer it.

You're not crazy. My wife and I have both experienced the same, radical change in our perception of other vehicles. I expected it to be an adjustment, but I never guessed it would lead to active avoidance of driving other vehicles.
