Ah, and thus the frustration with making due with what is on hand.

Probably not worth the fuss installing a NEMA 14-50 when the replacement wall connector is just a few days away.

Grok seems to think that the NEMA 5-15 adapter supports charging up to 15A due to a 2021 firmware update. I do not think I have observed this. Seems like I got 12 AMPS even on a 20 AMP receptacle until I used the NEMA 5-20 adapter. Then I got 16 AMPS of charge on the 20 AMP circuit.

Wondering how to check the firmware on the mobile connector...

Surprise surprise, it was supposed to be here Monday but arrived today and I should be hooking it up tomorrow. I'm sick so installation might be delayed. The little charger that could made it all the way to 65%.

And you are upgrading to a Tesla Universal Wall Connector which you will wire to a 220 VAC 60 AMP (two hot legs) circuit and expect to get not only 80% of 60 AMPS = 48 AMPS but both legs worth thus giving you a much faster charge kindof sortof 96 AMPS.
It's not 60A per leg, it's 60A across both. Both wires go to the same 60A breaker. You should only use 48A(80%) with a 100% duty cycle load. You can draw 60A in short bursts.
