I think that the attempt to impact the pickup market is a good one. It's not my grandmother's pickup and I think that many people want just that. Something different.
It fits and far exceeds the needs of the majority of the buyers in the pickup space.

It's got all the Tesla DNA in it. Things that most people have no idea what it is. Tesla is full of little things. I mean something as stupid as the light show, is one of the coolest things that people ever see. Got a 6-year-old that's squirming in the seat? Give them fart mode.

It's indeed a game changer.

How well do people like it. Listen to the review and see how often they are interrupted. Listen to the jealous people keep naysaying about it. A common defensive action when you don't have something. If they dont want it that much, why are they still here?

I think that the knocked it out of Fenway Park and the ball is on the way to land in the Pacific!

It's really interesting to here the other US manufacturers with the sky is falling.

It's also interesting to hear the pickup giant Ford, have to suck wind because they can't build a plant fast enough and put out as many vehicles per day as Tesla should be shortly.

Will it bypass the Model Y in sales?

Great topic for a thread @Coolbreeze704. I found myself getting caught up in the negative energy and contributing to it. This thread helped me refocus on why we’re all here so thank you. I’ve learned so much from folks here that are experts in various areas and volunteer their knowledge to benefit us all. I’m excited to not only to finally get the truck we’ve all been waiting for but also for as many of us as possible get trucks so the naysayers can relax. Good luck to those still waiting for their invite and congratulations to those have been able to order. Eventually we’ll all be there.

I’m not a truck guy, and I’ve never owned a BEV. But I am a tech guy and I do love out of the box thinking and new ideas that challenge the status quo. I have been sitting here planning my purchase of my new Porsche Carrera.

Then my neighbor bought a MS and let me drive it. I went to the LA Car Show, and they introduced this new car company that was a ā€œcouple yearsā€ out from their truck. It had some oddly styled headlights, and it called the ā€œRivianā€. Not my cup of tea, but ok. Then my good friend bought a M3P and drove it. Then I was in Hawaii and rented a M3LR. Then I was in NC, and rented a M3LR. I was struck by the software, and the ā€œcorporate attitudeā€ of Tesla and their obvious sense of humor. The way they don’t care how things ā€œhave always beenā€, and how they approach the ā€œstatus quoā€. Then I saw the CT. OMG. I put down my money, and I stated really researching what this thing might turn out to be. And the rumors that swirled, and the tweets, and the spy photos, and I was hooked. Then the perfect opportunity to buy a new Carerra came up, and when I considered it, I just couldn’t get excited about an ICE powered anything. I looked at the Taycan, and I couldn’t get excited about their approach and where they were pricing it (compared to what I could see from Tesla). Now, I have no interest in an ICE drive. And when I look at BEVs, I see all the legacy OEMs, and I’m disappointed. So I end up right back where I started the BEV thing, impressed with Tesla. And they finall roll out the CT, and DAYUM! It is everything I need, almost everything I want, an da whole bunch more. I am impressed. I rented a M3LR for a few days for fun (that’s a whole different story). And on the way back from the airport pick up last night, I hear the new M3 has been released. It’s showing Jan-Feb delivery dates, but no M3P. I’ll decide today or tomorrow if I’m going to wait or pull the trigger on the LR and if so, order one. Something to hold me over until the CT gets here.

Between the SbW, 48V architecture, HFS body, one of a kind styling, vault, V2H, adjustable ride height, acceleration, etc., I gotta have one. I think they delivered a far better package than they planned. And the things the haters are whining about, will all be addressed in time. She’s a beaut Clark! I’m not near the front, so I gotta wait. I’m fine with that, and I’ll play with my M3Whatever until then!

My kid can play next to the truck and I don't have to yell at him(I probably will) for denting, scratching etc. I don't have to park a mile away from the entrance of where I'm going, I h8 door dings and I figure the closer you park the more eyes will be on it taking selfies etc.. ? I had a $90,000 Raptor that got a dent in it so easily, that's not a TOUGH truck. Come on now, a shopping cart at Walmart was tougher than that rolling pile of Ford.

Thanks for this super positive thread… becuase
I dance around the room when I think of the Cybertruck arriving!!!

I am totally Dent-Phobic! With every vehicle we have… its gotta be a condition!

I strategically park away from everyone but close enough to avoid being where it’s easy to break-in and not be seen… that is a real challenge with a truck full of tools and gear.

Enter the CYBERTRUCK!!!!!
Just about the exact vehicle I would build if I could!!! If Dad was still alive we would/could have! He would have loved this thing!!!!

Lets list the ways of awesomeness!
- Looks like something out of my teenage SciFi dreams!
- the Vault! A working truck owner dreads a work truck break-in! The vault locks, works, sheds water, and with Sentry Mode and the ability to text me when ridiculousness happens, it’s perfect!
- real power and space in the bed?!?! I am gonna buy a welder and start a metal fab business with this thing! Just because it’s like it was made for it! The bed is big enough for sheets of everything!
-the rear doors open 90 degrees!!! I can put in my tool rollers without getting a hernia trying to get past the inside door handle. And can slide multiple 90ā€ TV’s inside. In fact endless building material can fit inside as the door opens wide enough.
- Ultra-dent-resistant!!!! That is totally my dream!!!!! I’ll say it again!
DENT RESISTANT!!!!!
DENT RESISTANT!!!!!
DENT RESISTANT!!!!!
Ever go to wax your car and find a new door ding, golf/baseball dent, road rock chunk taken out of your hood, fender, roof?!? Not with this guy!
-wait did you say ā€œno paint, not rock chipsā€!? You gotta be kidding me!!! That is awesome!!!
Forget the finger prints. You can wipe those off and not worry about scratching paint… which means
- automatic car washes won’t scratch it up!!!! So whether I go MONTH’s without washing or buy a daily wash program from the local auto-wash, the brushes or hand washing won’t jack up the paint… ā€˜Cause there isn’t any paint to scratch or swirl!!! Genius!!!

Now the stuff inside.
It’s all Tesla goodness.
- Best driver’s assist out there by a 100 miles beta or not!
- Best charging network…. ā€˜Cause it’s there and works!
- Great OTA updates!
-Low vehicle maintenance… cars used to be a pain in the butt to maintain. Folks at Autozone were our buddies. Nope… no more engine work!
- Works and sounds and drives like our other Tesla vehicles… So none of that brain retraining each time I get in the vehicle for work. And no exhaust!
- Did I mention… DENT RESISTANT!!!!! Wait. That’s outside… but still!!!
- I have some family that leaves near the ocean and get flooded often…. Where I live flash floods happen often! This vehicle can take it!!! Pressurized battery compartment!!!
- drive-by-wire and 4 wheel steering?!?! Stuff only fake vehicles in movies have. Who puts that in a vehicle that is less than $200k and is a production vehicle?
- Great sounds system!
- Great air filtration
- A quiet truck?!?! Yep! A quiet truck with performance! Yes sir you betcha!!!
- A quiet ride inside too! Nice.
- for road trip work I can fit a ton in it!!! And could lay a sleeping mat on the back floor and my wife can fit totally stretched out. If we need to ever again drive / charge all night to get to the next job in time (had to do it in the X) this will be the dream vehicle.
- Speaking of on that trip, an unhelpful porter stood and watched a luggage cart barrel into the X and put a deductible-sucking dent in the side next to the charge port. Won’t happen with a Cybertruck because…..
It’s DENT RESISTANT!!!!!
-Seems designed for 5 person skii trips…. taking an expensive vehicle to a ski slope won’t be endless stress about parking neighbors skii/board dings, snowy road driving gymnastics, or even pre/post slope dressing: frunk bench/ tailgate boot donning, 90 def door boot donning, tough shell So no slope and dents, preheated cabin, toss everything in the vault after, could attach an army’s worth of gear to the roof racks (the slant may help and fit luggage in the vault!

Sorry if I am getting obnoxious!!! I gotta stop listing… there are just sooooo many great things we are looking forward to about this vehicle!
What a great list! And no, I don't find it obnoxious at all!

In fact, I think your list sounded a very real and genuine, very fact based, while all the people trying to come up with negatives sound unrealistic and forced. Like they are trying to throw shade where no real shade exists. I don't know, call me an eternal optimist but this truck has so much going for it, and very few real negatives, and yes, I've read all the negative Nellies and they sound like little crybabies, crying a pool of tears over next to nothing. A lot of it is just made up or stuff that most people have no reason to care about because it will not impact their useage at all.

This is such a refreshing and uplifting thread since the COC forum has been overun with angry and unhappy people with mostly unrealistic gripes and complaints. I never expected to be invited to configure so soon, so I was overjoyed and completely blown away when the day after Christmas I recieved an invite to configure my very own Cybertruck!

For all the reasons in your wonderful list, what a great time in automotive history to be alive! I'm humbled and so very thankful that we even have an option to purchase such an advanced and well-thought out radical new truck.

I'm so glad Elon decided to throw caution to the wind and bring fast, fun and practical electric cars to the people. It wouldn't be anything like this without Elon's super-human guts and persistance. And the Cybertruck is proof of exactly that. Thank you, Elon, for being alive, and for assembling such a great team to help you carry out your dreams to better humanity! I know of no one else who could have done it as proficiently.

And thanks to all the positive support, information sharing and understanding provided by the wonderful members of Cybertruck Owner's Club who have remained on-point and grounded through four long years!

I'm a truck guy, with well over a million miles driving a steel bed down the road. But I'm also a science and technology nerd, and so from its very beginning I was deeply intrigued by what Tesla was doing. My six-weeks-after-the-reveal Cybertruck Tri-Motor reservation was kind of a lark. The most I had ever spent on a vehicle was south of $30K, after all.

But two years on, with it becoming clear that the Cybertruck delays weren't going to end anytime soon, I pulled the trigger on a new Model 3 LR AWD. Just something temporary, to tide me over, ya know?

The Model 3 stunned me with how extraordinary it was. Is.

Now my dilemma is trying to figure out how in the world to keep both.

BEV cars absolutely moved the goalposts. But for those of us who, for whatever reason, need that bed for its ever-there, understated utility, a sedan can be a challenge.

The Cybertruck brings it all back home.

Oh!!! Nearly forgot to talk about the accessories!!!! Teslas are nice, the Up Invincibles look fantastic! But being Dent resistant I won’t hesitate (l-track/roof rack in mind) to make my own!!! I’ll for sure post about and offer to make accessories for anyone who asks… It’s like this vehicle was designed for it!!! Not everyone is include to make their own gear. So please DM me with ideas. Something fun owners forums are great for! I seriously can’t wait to make stuff with and for the Cybertruck!!!

All of us who don’t have it yet are going to spend hard earned money on this vehicle! Let everyone else point out their gripes… that way we won’t be surprised… We might as well Positive the heck out of it before we get it, so we are absolutely in love with it when it arrives in our garages, driveways, boat docks, and skii lifts!
Thank you for posting this. I hope many forum members read this to remind them the excitement and joy this crazy truck can bring to them. I know I am more excited after reading it.

I can especially relate to your statement about your father. My dad loved new tech. He lived simply but would spend on cutting edge products like a wire recorder in 1950 ( I still have it), Camcorder (I remember him lugging that massive camera and battery around), and first Atari game box (to play Pong for hours).

I was driving home last night thinking how much he would marvel at the Cybertruck. He has been gone for 37 years but I would love to have him come back for one day just to show him the internet, a cellphone and the CT.

Thanks for leading me down that thought path.

You are right, we are so fortunate to be able to some of the first to experience a shift change in transport and the CT does it with such audacious style and performance.

I run into so many friends and acquaintances that are so reluctant or even upset with the idea of electric cares. Look forward to putting them in the front seat of the future and let them get that Tesla grin.

I think Jason Cammisa from Haggerty is the perfect example to speak to peoples reaction to the CT. Jason is a petrol head who makes his living from creating content around ICE vehicles.

His video on the CT was production heaven and a master piece for the CT release. You could see this guy who wants so deeply to dislike this threat to his beloved ICE vehicles melt away right in front of us as he drives the cr@p out of the crazy truck.

He couldn't help marvel at what the Tesla engineers had achieved creating Elon's apocalyptic SS dream..

Anyone that has not watched it here is a link

Great topic for a thread @Coolbreeze704. I found myself getting caught up in the negative energy and contributing to it. This thread helped me refocus on why we’re all here so thank you. This site is great because of those that really dedicate so much time to help us understand the truck. I am amazed at the collective intelligence of this group.

I also sometimes we have to be kids too and get excited about the new bike we might get under the Christmas tree this year.

I am glad this thread is good therapy to spark the excitement we have ahead.

When I think of Pilot Pete I think of the catchphrase you have used all along, " I am not buying a truck, I am buying the Cyber"

So many different buyers will be coming to EV's and Tesla because of this audacious vehicle. To think you were considering a Porsche or any other incredible sportscar but Elon's creation, a truck no less has such strong appeal and intrigue it is captured your interest instead.

That is crazy when you think about what this means to all the different people who are going to want this vehicle for all the reason we have read about so far in this thread.

I've been exploring the idea of getting something unique and different in 2019, specifically, a truck or SUV that combines serious off-road capabilities with supercar-like performance. My search included models like the Raptor, Jeep, Urus, Defender, and G-Wagen, all of which have a commanding road presence. However, they lacked certain features I was looking for, particularly those associated with Tesla, such as being an electric vehicle, having an advanced infotainment screen, and integrated app functionality.

Then came the Tesla Cybertruck, which not only met my criteria but exceeded expectations. It's like everything I wanted was dialed up to the maximum, making it the perfect choice for me. It is like Elon made this car specifically to my wishes.

Look at that beautiful truck in the middle of two other electric trucks!

I love the grander implications of this photo

Speaking of a positivity that counterbalances general forum tenor:

How cool that we live in a time with three excellent choices of BEV truck

They’re all already this good, and we’ve only just begun!
