I hate to put up negative topics about the cybertruck I'm not trying to be negative just being real.
This is what happen I picked up a few welding supplies from my local supplier to do a little tig welding
filled up my tank with argon got some tungsten tips and some filler rods in a bag they are about 3 feet long
and in a sealed bag. my tank is a small tank so i put it in one of the three storage bins at the top of the vault
and behind the cargo divider. That left the whole back half clear so i laid the long rods down right there
perpendicular to the tailgate. Well, little did i expect this to happen.
but my filler rods got lost somewhere along the way.
there is a gap between the tailgate and bed floor that runs along the whole length of the tailgate
it's about a 1/4" inch wide.
what kind of vault loses shit while closed?

Were they individual Rods ? I think all
Tailgates have a gap there for drainage . I know I’ve lost some small things like drill bits with my Duramax .
Edit I just looked at my neighbors 1500 his has maybe 1/6 3/32 gap. But if they were individual rods they for sure could fall out.

Yes, they all do have gaps but i think there are some overlaps and breaks in the gap that prevent things from having a free path to freedom. The only time i can remember of anything falling through that gap on any of the many pickup trucks that i have owned in the past was when the tailgate was down already then you go to close it, and something is laying on the seem because closing the tailgate opens up that gap. but not when completely closed or opened. only while closing the tailgate. that happen many times on other trucks, and it was never a problem because in order to close the tailgate you have to be standing right there. then whatever falls through will make a sound when it hits the bumper or the floor. you will see it and pick it up throw it back in the bed and your good to go. i never had something fallout while closed and on the road not even something as small as a screwdriver bit. the gap is certainly much smaller on other trucks

they were in a sealed bag, but they had room to roll around in the bag i think all it took was that first rod to fall into the gap with the bag included and the rest of them would follow like falling dominos

Agreed that the tailgate gap is far larger than needed to let water drain. It also invites in copious volumes of dust. There's room for improvement there.

That's a drain to lose water. ?‍♂
yeah, I'm sure water can get out that's a crucial feature with this truck if you consider the large quantities of water that do get in even when the tonneau is closed the problem is that not only will water drain out but what also will is all of these things 1) welding filler rods 2) any type of loose aggregate like sand, dirt, decomposed granite, concrete, manure 3) coins 4) any flat sheets like important documents, files, photos newspapers, posters. 4) paper money 5) gold flakes 6) a 5gal bucket of detergent that fell over and now leaving a trail of slippery soap. 7) and I can think of a few more if you need me too. 8) fabrics tablecloth, curtains

Small items can shift in a load; it's very common.

Putting small items loose in any pickup truck is asking for trouble; they will shift and bounce around when you're driving. Worse, if you have an emergency stop, they will be thrown with great force against the front, impacting whatever is there.

Yea I would not put those things in the bed. That's what the gear locker is for.

You're going to put Sand, Dirt, and Manure in your gear locker? I don't think so.

If you never put a pile of sand in a truck before you're not using your truck to its full potential. you never put a bag of goods in the bed only find out once you reach your destination that the items in your bag have all been scattered about the bed. or a bucket with small things in it has turned over and spilled its contents all over the bed. If this has never happened to you then you're not using your truck to do any type of real work. That's fine, if that's you then don't worry about it this doesn't apply to you.

They might be under the bed, there is a gap in it that small things can fall into.
