Just got my universal charger installed. Already have Powerwalls but they are OG with V1 gateway.
I was told by the installer Powershare wont work with V1 but they plan to do an update that will (hopefully this will remain true)

This is the first universal charger I have had. Its nice with he wifi and can tell which car I am charging. I also see my Powerwalls and solar.
With those that have it working does it show then a connection from the CB to the Powerwall or gateway?

Similar situation, but with a Gen2 gateway & PW (and non-Tesla solar). Contactor coming tomorrow to install the Universal Charger and switcheroo a couple of breakers so that the charger is in the backed-up panel (it's not, currently). Not sure where a Gen2 gateway puts me on when Powershare will be enabled, never been able to get a straight answer, but the contractor is clear that they know to confirm with Tesla we are 'Powershare ready'.

thanks for the replies and that video.
Ok here's to hoping they really will live by their quote that all gateways will be compatible.

Gateway upgrade should not be needed.

I have the first gen and there was a software update they mentioned we needed to get it to work....which they said they were working on. but as it is my gen 1 doesnt do PowerShare

Right, software update, not hardware.
