I've got PW2, PW2+ and tesla solar. No powershare. I saw somewhere that the update for my scenario is 2025 now.
Yeah kinda pissed they changed it all quietly to later in 2025 even now. Sucks.

Last. Time I buy a product from a company that gives you an unfinished product and pushes back features promised by years.

It's always been pretty far out in the development timeline, and the fact that they even provided a date is interesting. Also it sounds like it starting to work now for some folks since it might be starting to get delivered prior to 2025.

I had a PowerShare installed and moved to solar with 3 powerwall 3’s and v3 gateway. I still have the home connect in the control panel lit up under truck when plugged into my universal connector as before, but not sure it actually works.

Test it by turning off your main breaker.

Unfortunately turning off the breaker just cuts the powerwalls in. I suppose I can drain them and see…

The crux for me is if the Cybertruck is plugged in does the Powershare + Powerwall combo prioritize the truck AND will it charge the Powerwall if the house wattage draw is < Powershare output.

Why? Seems like a very common scenario of the power going out when you are away on errands (or filling up at a Supercharger during longer term outages eg WNC I experienced)
OR you are away from your house overnight and the power goes out but you come back and your Powerwall is at 30% or whatever lower SOC.

2025 from below for Powerwall and PowerShare working together.

https://www.tesla.com/support/powershare

For Customers With Powerwall

If your home is equipped with Powerwall and home charging, you do not require any additional equipment. Powershare Home Backup functionality with Powerwall is expected to be available later in 2025 through an over-the-air update. All Powerwall models will be compatible with Powershare Home Backup in the future. (2)

Our preferred home charging solution is the Wall Connector or the Universal Wall Connector on a 240 V circuit, but any generation of Wall Connector is compatible with Home Backup if using Powerwall. The home charging system must be backed up by Powerwall to enable Home Backup.

Footnote:
(2) Powershare equipment requirements and related promotional offerings, including voucher amounts, are subject to change.

Interesting scenarios where i wonder if you can charge the Powerwall from the Cybertruck especially if there is a nearby working supercharger but you don't have power in your neighborhood after a storm event etc.

I'm debating pulling the trigger on the CT to transfer my FSD from the Model Y I purchased earlier this year.

It seems like it is a reasonable scenario if you do not have solar.
The common assumption is that you fill your powerwall daily with kWhs from your solar panels.

Sounds like Anker Solix X1 will support a dedicated generator input to charge back up their battery and run your house. (link)

Does it work with the gen2 wall connector? I'm still waiting for PTO on my solar roof so I can't test it yet.
It has to be a Gen3 wall connector to have the bidirectional power hardware.

FWIW I have a Powerwall 3, gateway 3, universal wall charger (all new) and that section doesn't show up in my app, albeit I am on Android so that may be behind...

If you have a Tesla Powerwall, a wall connector, and a Cybertruck, take a look at the Tesla app. Just noticed this recent change that takes you through a quick tutorial prior to giving you access the Powershare backup within the controls section. Plugged the truck in, and it changes to say Home Connected!

Currently if you only have PowerShare it activates. The software for PowerShare, Powerwall, and Solar won't be done until sometime in 2025. It is printed on the Tesla PowerShare website. It seems to be a recent change because I don't recall seeing 2025 there before.
