Mine’s currently in service for the gap, excessive leak, and a misaligned tailgate. They’re saying a ‘foam strip’ was on order for the leak and the tailgate was aligned, but they’re not confirming whether or not they’ll take care of the gap. Pickup date has been pushed twice so … ?

Do you know what they did to fix it?
1st visit: Replaced tonneau applique
2nd visit: Tonneau cover retrofit, added additional slat
3rd visit: Remove and replace foam seal between roof glass and tonneau applique.

I'm surprised you got the 3rd visit fix. They just keep saying cover isn't waterproof.
I've got the slat added, I think there's still a bit of leak. Need to check after a storm.

For those who are trying to get the slat added, make sure you show the service rep the Tesla service bulletin. He said he's never heard of it and typed the number in the notes. https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...UID-A52C2B6C-55CE-40DF-84ED-2DBE6001B1D3.html

Thanks for the details. I just made a service request and hopefully I will have those three issues resolved, as well.

Edit: I also added to my service request that my tonneau covers requires constant calibration and will always resort to stopping 6 inches from the tailgate when closing. Calibration will fix it for a week or so, then it will screw up again.

I agree .Fixing the seal(simple job ) is paramount to prevent leaking in the cybertruck and should be expected in a high end vehicle like this and simply replying its not waterproof is just below par. While we understand its not waterproof completely there is a big improvement when this is done.

Having customers do DIY work to make it more water resistant after being told expect water in your truck bed after rain and a car wash is in my opinion not on .

Well, they didn’t take care of the gap. They did take care of replacing the foam strip under the appliqué and aligned the tailgate. On the fence about doing another service call just to take care of the gap if water intrusion has been significantly reduced. Probably add it as a line item if there are other issues that pop up.

My CT was built in November and I’ve only had it for a little over a week. On my tonneau, I can see the end by the appliqué where there are holes in the aluminum piece. This sounds like I would be eligible for the extra slat service bulletin?

I have a service appointment for Jan 7 (to fix a few nicks in the rear door trim that was there when I took delivery) and I’m debating if it’s worth adding this to the list since I’m not experiencing any issues. We’ve only had light rain and I haven’t taken it through the car wash yet (lol)

How much water was it leaking for you prior to the fix?
Is this significant enough?

After the added slate photo. One side is dry. Still leaking on the left side. I am guessing the foam is bad?-

Took mine through the auto car wash last week. Surprisingly, there was no leak. There was maybe 2 or 3 drops of water on the bed, no water leaking down the back window. That said, mine is only 2 weeks old…

Just scheduled an appointment after the holidays. Mine also have a nice big gap.
