The forum existed for the last four+ years and no one has owned a CT. It was still called OWNERS club. I see that you just joined today. Welcome.
There are only one or two forum members who have actually taken delivery of CT to date, on fact only in the last few days. The rest of us have just been educating ourselves about the CT on what we have learned from these forums, videos, reviews and those nice members who have the CT. The suggestions and info you have received is based on a lot of facts that members have learned and are taking time to try and answer your specific question and each time you respond with a “have you tried it!?”

You apparently only want to have your question answered by someone “who has tried it” so that’s why I suggested you take some effort and go seek out that specific forum where an extremely nice forum members, who owns a CT have offered their time to answer questions posted on that thread.

Or keep getting mad and annoyed when someone responds to your question.

Have you tried it? Those are exact statements. You’re assuming that the vault length spans from the very top of the window to the closed position resting place. What if the cover actually rests a few inches (or more) from the top of the window? I can’t tell either way from viedos or when I walked around rhe Cybertruck.
if I’m off by an inch, does it change the calculus?

do you need to see them for a 5 min drive to the beach?

does 6” of tonneau open at the tailgate actually create material airflow, or does it just cause buffering like when you open only one window a few inches?

in any event, when you’re inside the CT with the tonneau closed then press the open button, the tonneau is immediately seen entering at the upper edge of the window. When closed, the tonneau’s forward lip is at rest *just* at the upper edge of the window.

To that extent, yes I’ve tried it.

Otherwise, as for my point about the headrests, this shot of a CT with the rear glass removed gives a good idea of how little unobstructed view there is out the back “glass” - subtracting the headrests as well as the glass trim lips, it’s pretty low visibility even with the tonneau all the way open

What is your question?

Yes, the tonneau position is irrelevant to driving, as far as we know. We've seen them driving with them partially down (on a bicycle, specifically).

The tonneau covers the rear window while it's being rolled up, because it stows under the bed. There might be a sweet spot where it's cracked and the window is still mostly uncovered, but...

Why would you do this? The tonneau isn't air-tight. And you can't reach into it anyway. And if your dogs are unsecured, they will rattle around like smashed peas if there's a bad road or collision.
