Tonneau mystery- update mystery solved!

I checked my CT when someone got a tonneau cover with different colors(mix of black and silver) on delivery, and found mine was all black. When I picked up CT at wrapping shop todat, my tonneau cover became mix of black and silver!!!, then when I got home, the tonneau got all black again. I can not figure out what happened to my tonneau,

wonder anyone got the same experience. this is like a magic

no, I did not hear any sound like rubbing something... I will explore it again under the sun, but this is so mysterious.

talking tonneau, changing the topic slightly, how bad is the water leakage in?
If I put luggage back there will it get wet in heavy rain? can you store anything in the back and it will stay dry?

What is the cover made of? Are they discolored underneath when that happens? Are they warmer? Colder? Was this right after the tonneau was closed? Did it change back after being closed a while?

It’s so uniform across the slats. Trying to think of possible causes…
- temperature discoloration
- light reflectivity due to surface texture at certain angles.
- magic hidden solar panels.
- something affecting panels when it’s open and they are hidden.

That looks like the “racing stripe”, or the section that is neither rolled up inside the coil nor sandwiched in the rear wall. There were RCs at GFTX seen with a similar pattern. The area was exposed to dust or moisture or something, which cleared up as the unfurled cover was driven.

Try using some lotion… some are just a bit ashy…

Wonder if there is some water, or oil in the lowest part of the storage area that when retracted soaks a few panels and makes them look different.
