Toyos are decent. I had them on my previous 4Runner and Highlander. But remember, just because Toyo owns Nitto doesn’t mean the same warranty or even material. Nitto is their hard core off road tire. What’s funny is Nitto is a branch of Toyo from all I read so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have the same rep for warranty but yes I’ve heard the same as you said. I went down today to 4 wheel parts and put the Nitto the Toyo and bfg in a row I settled on the Toyo. I had 2 sets on my 2500 and I have a set of RT on my 73 bronco. I owned BFG MTs a long long time ago and liked them also. I didn’t particularly not like the BFGs I just kind of for some reason dismissed them. I’m in Los Angeles and maybe go 4x4 in big bear or Joshua tree off road a bit 1 or 2 times a year. Don’t need snow tires or weather don’t kind of just boiled down to looks for me and sidewall appearance
if you are off roading 2x a year, a mud tire would be overkill and probably way too noisy for highway. My Trail Grapplers are a mud tire and I have to yell to have a conversation at highway speeds. But I have them because my Jeep spends > half its miles off road in Moab.
BFG KO3s will give you a mean look and a nice ride. Also Falken Wildpeaks are awesome too. Those came stock on my Jeep… had a smooth quiet highway ride and were great for off-roading. It was a good all around tire.
Regardless, it sounds like you settled on a nice tire.
