When using the standard drive mode, manually switching to "High" ride height is always temporary. The screen says it will stay in high until 25mph, but that is not how it behaves. Does anyone have insight into its logic? I believe it is: Stay high until 25mph OR you move >200ft, whichever comes first.

High is only available above 25mph in off-road mode.

The logic is also based on your preferred ride height setting. You can find more details on page 91 of the owner's manual.

@mark555055c Thank you so much. I should have RTFM. This explains it exactly and my observations are right inline.

When the ride height is set to High, it automatically returns to the preferred ride height* after driving approximately 100 ft. (30 meters) or when your driving speed reaches 25 mph (40 km/h).

So you have to be in off-road to keep it in "high"?
