With 2 million ish on order, it might be a nice contract to land. We may see more manufacturers as production hits the 375K stride. When I think of Pirelli I think of short sidewalls, strong cornering tires, not off road 35s
Until recently, the Scorpion Verde and Verde 2 were top class options for all season ice/snow/wet/dry options for my RAV4 and Highlander. Now Michelin is making the top of the line for that size.
For me spending 90% + time on the road/ice/snow, I’ll be looking at TireRack’s independent testing for these replacements closely.
There are plenty of options to get an aggressive off-road tire that you switch to for a bit of fun. However, nothing will do excellent at both on and off road options.

My wife declared "Anything except those hubcaps from the reveal that stick out just begging for a pothole edge or curb."
I have to agree... I want a little rubber past the rim or hubcap.
even before the pothole, i'm hoping the CT ships without the hubcaps attached

telling yall right now, those attachment rings are going to put rashes on the wheel finish

with the CT, however, the question will be whether there are plenty of options?

in a 35" tire, one might find a lot of 115 load index tires, and one might find a lot of H-rated speed tires

but are there many 35" 115H tires?

I just want a tire that will do 130mph, off-road/mud/snow, get great mileage, handle like my M3P summer performance tires and last 100k miles, are quiet, come in 35x11.5x20, dont get curb rash, etc - jeez, that much to ask, lol! :)

My M3P OEM tires lasted 20k miles - granted I'm hard on them! my 2500 Diesel has 35x12.5x20 Nitto's on it and they are great - 60k mi warranty (first set made it 55k miles), granted more street biased but they do reasonable in the snow, good in the dirt, are quiet for what they are, etc - I'll definitely see what comes OEM and replace with something better depending upon options!

Probably just a 2WD version with street tires... I don't see this as earth-shattering news as most tesla models have a few different wheel/tire options.

Right, I have Mich Defenders LTX M/S 19s on my Highlander now.

Maybe I'm just a bit confused here.. however, how can anything be "confirmed" prior to the official launch?

Here’s what is confirmed: today at GFTX there is a release candidate (VIN …710) wearing ~34.6ā€ Pirelli Scorpion ATRs, with CT-specific tread and sidewall designs

feel free let your personal skepticisms do what you like with that info

Personally, at this stage in manufacturing, I’m comfortable assuming this tire and wheel combo will be amongst those available at launch (alongside at least the Goodyear and premium wheel we’ve seen otherwise)

Damn... triggered much?
I'm just asking a question.

Your "comfortable assumption" is perfectly reasonable, but it doesn't equate to a confirmation, and that was the point I was making.

what seemed triggered?

I guess I’m not sure what you mean by ā€œconfirmationā€

I just typed out what is ā€œconfirmedā€: in my prior OP, I believed a prior build was wearing a new Pirelli tire, but that video was grainy; now I’ve seen the Pirellis in person from a few feet away, so I’m ā€œconfirmingā€ that some RCs are wearing a new Pirelli tire

I wouldn’t have thought of it if you hadn’t mentioned the word, but if anyone here is ā€œtriggeredā€ā€¦

I didn’t assert that ā€œupon ā€˜official launch’ you’ll be guaranteed an opt for these Pirelli’sā€ - seems like that’s you putting those words in my mouth then disagreeing with it (there’s a term for that…)

Ugh.
I think you are being overly defensive here dude.
Relax, I'm just saying.. how can there be a confirmation of anything, w/out a confirmation?

I dont think you and I communicate effectively here.
