Goodyear for me
serious question, as I’m personally conflicted

still Goodyear for you if they have a -15% range effect (at hey speeds)?**

**Rivian switch to offroad tires has a ~-20% range effect at hwy speeds

I'll start with the off-road tires and assess from there....maybe get second set of rims/tires for towing if the range impact is that much, or if I decide my CT is a sports car too!

Let’s use 20% and 320Mi (Top End Range) for conservative guess work. That’s 256Mi Range. Remove 30% for miscellaneous EV reasons and you get 180Mi. Since 320 isn’t getting out and back round trip and I’ll be stopping anyway then I’m definitely going Goodyear. Add in the need for better traction in the elements/forest roads of CO and it makes it a no brainer for me.

Yeah this is a tough one, I certainly like the look of the goodyears better, but I need to see the mileage hit to know how badly I want those over the Pirelli... assuming the Goodyears are considered the "upgrade".

There would need to be a significant price/performance delta for me to swallow a +10% reduction in range
for a person that drives primarily in-town, it shouldn’t be that much of a hit

for a person that drives a lot of Hwy miles, beware

for a person in-between, in-between

Going to start with road tires, add off-road later.

I thought about that. Answer is Yes. I think trucks look better with them.

Range is very important, but I will also drive on dirt tracks and beaches. So all considered, I will have to take a range hit, which is a given.

I need 800Km to be able to whittle down to a reasonable distance carting an RV.. Which I can compromise the extra stop if necessary.

Towing is ad-hoc, and a relatively temporary issue, it involves hops between locations.
The really long drive is preferably avoided, but at worse, it really is a once off to get somewhere for a longer stay.

Range hit yes, but it is not a killer, guessing it is 2% of my use time. I think people should think more about that.

Charging will get cheaper, and the Sun is renewable. Why do we care if we charge every 4 days or 3.5 days. or every 14 or 12.
I'd care if it was once a week Vrs every 2 hours.
