Update on "Early Delivery for Long-Term Shareholders" Program

It has been one month since Martin's tweet:

Things we know:
- Tesla now has a bunch of brokerage statements in hand
- Some people have apparently been disqualified, and notified of such, due to insufficient shareholdings/meeting qualifications

Things we don't know:
- What does "Early Delivery" mean?
- When will we receive confirmation of qualification?
- Will we be able to place orders as soon as confirmation of eligibility is secured?
- How long will it take to get trucks once orders are placed?
- Will the delivery timeline be the same or different for AWD vs Cyberbeast for long-term shareholders?
- Is this the end of the Foundation Series, or just another demand accelerant?

Clearly, "Early" means something different to Martin & Co. than it does to some of us. The referral points/YouTuber program seemed a lot clearer - and those trucks have already been delivered.

Odds that we hear something before or after the Q1 earnings call on 4/23?

Since they didn't state any specific amount of days for delivery, i assume "early" means the shareholders who qualify can place an order for a FS truck now, versus having to wait for an invite or the regular build to go up for config.

So essentially this program is to allow long term shareholders who made very late CT resverations to jump ahead of those who made very early reservations and are waiting for regular CT builds.

Maybe. But AFAIK now no one has yet received the mythical email inviting them to configure/place an order based on qualifying through this program. If someone has received the email, please post a screencap here of the email and what you're now seeing in the app/web to place an order.

It seems pretty straightforward... Just allows people to order ASAP and potentially get bumped ahead of deliveries already in progress. Either way if you haven't ordered yet, you get to order now.

Given people from Dec are still waiting on VINs, I assume this is also the only way to speed yourself up in some of the less delivery focused states.

It seems pretty straightforward... Just allows people to order ASAP and potentially get bumped ahead of deliveries already in progress. Either way if you haven't ordered yet, you get to order now.

I think this is a reasonable theory but the truth is we don’t know. I have already ordered but don’t yet have a VIN. I did not receive an e-mail saying that the program does not apply to those who have already configured.

I actually spoke to someone at Tesla yesterday, from what I gather they are definitely getting calls about it, and are trying to find an answer (or at least get an update put out by the IR team).

When it comes to what this program was, it said numerous times "Early Delivery", just like the referral program. They never said anything about "Early Ordering" or "Skip the line to order early!", it said very clearly "Early Delivery", just like the other program.

As such, I feel like it's absolutely understandable those of us who jumped through the hoops to validate our significant share holdings are expecting to take early delivery like the referral program. In my case, my order was completed in December for my beast (from a within-24h order at the original reveal), so it's already been a 3 month wait for a VIN.

Hopefully that changes soon, I had planned a lot of content around my Cybertruck on socials.

Yikes at the condescending attitude. It’s a $100k+taxes truck that people have to plan around liquidity-wise, as well as selling their current car.

My best guess is there were a lot of people who didn’t read the program rules or tried to cheat the system, and they had to filter through those.

My best guess is there were a lot of people who didn’t read the program rules or tried to cheat the system, and they had to filter through those.

I read it the same way.
In addition to having a ton of equity tied up in the company. A little notice seems reasonable.

We get the reviews/filtering of applications. But how hard is it to send an email saying "Thank you for being loyal shareholders. We are currently reviewing all applications that were received prior to the 3/22 deadline and expect to begin responding with details on how the Early Delivery process will work in the next 2-4 weeks."

Or don't even send an email, Martin can send a tweet with the same info I've laid out above in 15 seconds.
