You’ll probably need to get your hands on the Delorean from Back to the Future first šŸ˜‚
FSD transfers are over.
Tesla made an exception for orders placed by 2/28/26… self included.
I ordered my 26 Premium AWD on 2/28/26.
The same day they changed the transfer policy.

Was:
ā€œorder by 4/31/26 to transfer FSDā€

Changed to:
ā€œtake delivery by 4/31/26 to transfer FSDā€

I suspect they did that when they were bombarded with orders for 59k SAWDs
with FSD transfers
Dirty Tesla on YouTube did a video on how he was able to extend his FSD transfer to 2027 by doing so. I think Tesla made the policy change a day later.

According to recent official communications from Tesla to buyers who placed orders for the Cybertruck Standard AWD before March 1st (the end of free FSD transfers), they will now be required to upgrade to Premium or Cyberbeast if they intend to keep their FSD transfer in place.

I inquired to Tesla and they denied transferring fsd from a sawd to a premium.

I was in the thick of all this BS
So I have a good handle on the facts.

FSD End dates.

No FSD transfers after 3/31/26
Initially based on order date.
on 2/28/26 (overnight 27th-28th) changed to delivery date
Apparently effective orders placed after 2/28/26, but never confirmed in writing

Ability to purchase FSD (non-subscription)
Ended. 2/14/26

Luxe Package was a quasi-exception
Beginning 2/15/26 the FSD included in the Luxe package would no longer stay with the car upon sale or transfer.

Very much affected timing for those of us aware of these looming changes.

I ordered my ā€˜26 Plaid Model S on 2/8/26 to beat the 2/14//26 transferability deadline .

I ordered my ā€˜26 Premium AWD Cybertruck on 2/28/26 because of the order date vs delivery date policy change. My original intention was to place the order before 3/31/26.

Tesla would not confirm that my transfer would be honored if my delivery didn’t occur by 3/31/26. Said it would be considered on a case by case basis. Took delivery on 5/6/26 and they did honor the transfer.

Same here. losing free FSD forever really makes it a deal breaker… but I’m also worried about my PCS which hasn’t failed but I’m at 30k miles and if it goes after warranty it would cost me more than the FSD subscription over the next few 7 years. Really tempted to trade in for a fresh truck, new battery pack, better safety, new warranty…
The math on FSD is a value of about $8,500, assuming 6% interest cost and paying $1k/yr. That could change if the FSD fee increases but that’s how to look at what we’d be ā€œlosingā€ in value to switch to fee mode.

That WILL change WHEN the FSD fee increases.

I suspect that’s not correct. In fact it is much more likely that FSD fees may decrease. Elon’s personal wealth is tied directly to achieving 10 million FSD subscribers at one time, measured as a three month average. There is no price parameter in his pay package, just gross subscriptions. As of last quarter only 12% of Tesla owners have FSD, either prepaid or monthly. The numbers are 1.1 owners out of 9.5 million teslas that have been sold with FSD capabilities. If we know anything about Elon Musk, he’s not shy about pulling aggressive price levers to achieve sales targets. I’ll take the under on FSD subscription costs, maybe by a lot. The first shoe to drop after his new pay package was eliminating all further permanent FSD licenses. The connection isn’t coincidence. And future FSD subscriptions will respond to price points. I could see even $29/mo for a year as a teaser. Look at what’s happening now with broadband fees. They’re cratering and the ISP CEOs don’t have the subscription incentives that Elon Musk has.

Just picked up my new CT yesterday in central Pennsylvania (VIN 94xxx), traded in my foundation series. Ordered March 3, was on hold like everyone else’s.

Immediately noticed a marked improvement in wind noise reduction. Much much quieter, and feels more solid when you close the doors. Very happy with the ā€˜ upgrade’. 😜. Only minor issue is I didn’t realize that there were no D-rings on the bed floor. The 4 I had with the foundation series must’ve been part of the foundation series extras. Minor expense.

if you have a foundation series and are not happy with how noisy it is, definitely worthwhile considering trading in. They gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse. No cannolis though.

I did the same. 5/6/26 delivery.
Just a few accessories required to match Founders series configuration.
Replaced my bed mat with one compatible with the ridges in new back wall of the bed.
I included the link to the one I purchased in the photos, but it’s no longer available on Amazon for some reason. And shows the mat for the wrong truck…
