I removed my rear view mirror off because I thought it was pointless to have and its so small!! Recently, I have seen ads for an upgraded camera mirror that can be used and was wondering if anyone has installed any and what their thought are on using it over the view that you get on the info screen. I have been looking at the one from Hansshow.

I have that one, it is great. Install isn't awful, but check this forum, there are lots of tips.

Main pros for this are you can see into the bed or use it with the tailgate down, you can see behind you when the side view camera comes on for turns, and you can change the angle of view from the screen. Resolution is good, perhaps better than the stock one.

No real downsides for me except I can't check my teeth for broccoli in it.

I like my s92 from tesstudio. It had some major growing pains installation wise (see multiple angry threads) but I think that’s all sorted now and it has a lot of niceties about it like a nice size, a solid mount, good picture, power off and on with the car and a cool Cybertruck start up logo.

The broccoli check struggle is real. Thanks for the feedback. I feel better about getting one now.

I hadn't seen that one yet. I'll have to check it our before I decide. Thanks for letting me know.

I remember watching this guy before I bought one. The products may have evolved since then but at least it’s a direct comparison at some point.

The upgraded Hansshow Rear View Mirror works amazingly well and was fairly easy to install. Here's an installation video I posted to YouTube:

The mirror looks nice, I created my own setup using a Brandmotion mirror and other cameras, I love mine except it has no brightness controls. The main issue with all these kits, is the camera it comes with. This one is 105 degree FOV, which is better than most, but you really need 90 degree, it’ll be most like a real mirror. Higher POV is great for reverse, where you don’t care about distortion and want to see wider range. But for driving you don’t want a “reverse camera”

I would recommend looking at the posting from MadCyber providing numerous installation tips.

And also the following threads:
Digital Rear View Mirror Installed - WOLFBOX 12" Rear View Mirror Camera ... cheap and it works

Nite Vision Review of JOMISE 10.88" Rear View Mirror Camera (Amazon)

Note: While digital mirrors offer now a very good definition, similar to the video image than you get with a cellular phone, the major concern that I noticed with the different digital mirrors that I tested is often the lack of luminosity during the day, especially in a sunny day, compared compared with regular mirror.

I had a '22 Tundra where the rear view mirror was a mirror and the cam screen. The day/night switch on the mirror switched it between mirror mode and cam screen and I normally had it on mirror for this reason.

I installed the original Hansshow digital mirror. Love the view. Hate all the wires beneath the beauty cover. It made it hard to remove and replace the beauty cover and I was always worried about GPS interference. So I quickly made a 3D printed “ugly cover” for the unbelievable amount of extra wiring.

Been rather happy with the streamline look of no mirror, still getting used to it. However this thread has me thinking. Never can have to many cameras. As usual, so many CT options.

My s92 was by far one of the most painful
upgrades to do but it’s also one of my favorites.
Again, it’s hard to describe a cabin this size as claustrophobic but when you have a mirror you can see out of like the back of a pinto you realize quickly just how claustrophobic it was before. Highly recommend.
